PRINCESS OF ALIUM SE ORBEM TERRARUM

Chapter 2: The Fall

Leticia hugged her daughter while waiting for her husband. She's worried not just about the kingdom but for her newborn baby girl. She's just few hours old and yet, she have to experience this war. Originally, Kylo and Leticia should be the one to marry each other, five months before the coming of age ceremony of Morwen, a marriage proposal from the first prince has arrived at their residence. But because Leticia doesn't want to get involved in Royal Family, she refused. Unfortunately, she fell in love with Kylo's brother. And to think that she accepted Morwen's feelings, she felt like she ate what she told to Kylo during the rejection. 

Two week before the announcement of their engagement, Leticia decided to have a serious talk with Kylo. She thought that he will be mad at her decision, fortunately, he said it's alright and it is fine that she did not chose him. And so, she thought that Kylo accepted everything. But this treason, it is a valid evidence that he is just looking for a great opportunity to fight his own family.

"uwahh! uwaahh!"

"Husshh, baby. Hush. Mommy will never leave you, okay? We will wait for you father."

She sing lalluby to her daughter as she breastfeed her. Her golden eyes keep on shining. She still can't believe how pretty the princess is. Her silver hair she got from her, the golden eyes that represents royalty, her fair skin. She's like a fairy in human's body. When the baby feel asleep in her arms, she kissed her cheek and lie her down on the bed. She picked a bag and started to put things inside.

Kylo is strong, that's what I know. I should prepare incase we have to run away.

Leticia put important things inside the bag. She still can't use her power as she is still weak. She have to gain her strength in order to use it. While organizing her things, a loud bang suddenly approached her room.

"Uwaahhh! Uwaaah!"

"Morwen!"

"Leticia, we have to move."

"What? W-why?"

"Kylo. He summoned undead beasts"

Morwen's statement startled Leticia. Summoning undead beasts is very powerful. This ability has been hidden a secret for thousands of years as it ruins the law of their Kingdom. 

"Morwen, are you saying---?"

"We have to move. He already killed half of my army. He'll be here any mo----"

"Your Majesty! You have to move!"

In a minute, Morwen was able to teleport his family in the hidden basement.

"Are you okay? How's the baby?"

Morwen asked his wife who is still shocked to what is happening. They were able to gather people in the basement including 20 soldiers and 15 knights. 

"Morwen, tell me what did you see? What did Kylo do?"

The King only looked at Leticia thinking if he have to tell her the current situation. He sighed in disbelief and called one of his knight.

"Helio, please state the current situation to us."

"Yes Your Majesty. Five cities have already been burned by the undead beasts. Prince Kylo is now targeting the families who strongly supported Your Majesty."

"How about my family? My mother? My father? My siblings? How about them?"

Leticia asked the knight with fear in her eyes. She fears that they were killed by Kylo's people. It's been two months since she visited their home and she actually planned to visit again after she regained her strength.

"My Queen, your family decided to fight first Prince's army. But as far as I know, the groups they were in are already dead. I'm sorry."

Leticia's legs lost strength. Her eyes suddenly dropped tears continuously. King Morwen hugged her as she cried on his chest. The princess who's in the King's arms also felt the sadness and pain that her mother is feeling at this time. Without words coming out from the queen's lips, she just keep on crying thinking that she has the power to immediately bring them to where they are but because she lost her strength, she can't do anything. Now, the knight brought the news that her family may be dead by now as they fought in front line, she's helpless.

"My King!"

One of the knights called out the King. He ran towards them. Leticia noticed that his head is bleeding. He might be from above while fighting Kylo's dogs.

"My King, Prince Kylo------"

*booom! Kaboom!*

*roaaaaaaar*

"Ahhhh!"

"The beast! Ruuuuun!!"

"Protect the King and Queen!"

Beasts came inside the basement. Within few seconds, the elves were killed.

"King! Queen! Please run! Hide!"

Leticia is still shock as she cannot move her feet. The beasts are eating and slicing the elves one by one. King Morwen noticed Leticia and teleported his family 1 kilometer away from the fight. Unfortunately, this is the farthest place he can bring them. They are underneath their castle so, only 10% of his power can be used. Morwen is sweating and breathing heavily.

"Leticia...Leticia. Are you okay?"

"Mor-Morwen. The....The people, they're dead. The beasts! What should we do?!"

"Queen, listen to me. We will survive this, okay? Just trust me."

King Morwen get his magic stone and requested to view what is happening on the surface. The stone showed the current situation. The Kingdom is burning.

"Show me where mother and father."

The stone showed the room of the former reigning couples. Unfortunately, what they witnessed is beyond what they are imagining. There, Prince Kylo stabbed King Paris while saying something.

"Why?! Why did you choose him over me?! I am the first born. I should be the one sitting on the throne."

King Paris is saying something but the magic stone cannot grasp what he is saying as he is being stabbed and having a hard time to talk.

"Hahahaha!! Everything, everything should have been mine! You think I will not gonna it back?!"

"Kylo! My baby! Please, stop. Please. I am here. Your mother is still here."

Queen mother is crying while uttering his son's name. But Kylo deepen the sword in his father's chest. As soon as King Paris fell down, he rudely remove the sword and look at his mother. His face no longer hold a poker face but his eyes are burning with anger. 

"Well, hello there Queen Mother. I'm sorry. You have to witness father's death. Ahahahahha!"

Kylo is laughing as if he is a psychopath. Morwen who is watching from the stone gritted his teeth. His brother no longer a brother to him.

"Mother, I told you I want Leticia to be my bride. But you told me she doesn't suit royalty. But when Morwen wanted her, you supported him?! What am I to you?! Am I just a decoration?! Leticia's hand is the only thing I asked you to support about me, but you still neglected me! Now, you should pay the price."

In a swift motion, Kylo, the first prince killed his very own mother. He just laughed and laughed. But Leticia can see Kylo's eyes. Yes, he is laughing but he is also crying. The queen was startled when Kylo shouted Morwen's name.

"Morwen! My dearest brother! Come out now. I know you are watching. Come on, brother. It won't be painful."

Leticia hold Morwen's hand and shake her head.

"Morwen, please. Don't listen to him. Please"

But Morwen is only looking at the stone. Kylo is killing all the people he met while he is in range. He can't just let his brother annihilate every single elf in this Kingdom.

"Morwen! If you are not gonna come out, I may be forced to make my dogs find you. And if they find you, your wife and my lovely  niece will also be killed. Now, I will give you few minutes. So come out now, you scaredy-cat."

Then Kylo hit the thing that helps Morwen watch what is happening. This made him realize that all this time, Kylo knows his whereabouts. Queen Leticia begged the King to come with her. She started crying and kneel in front of him. Morwen just hugged her and kiss her face.

 "God knows how much I wanted to be with you. I want to see the birth of my child. But my love, how can I live peacefully knowing that hundreds of our people were killed because of my selfishness? My brother only wants my head. If he have my head, he'll spare our people. Now, go my lovely wife. You have to live for our child. She's our lovely child. Love her on behalf of me. I love you. I love you so much that I can't let you and our daughter be killed. Go. Go Leticia! I'll come to you soon. Wait for me, okay? Elder Vanitas, please take care of my family. This is the last thing I will ask for the future of my Kingdom."

"Your highness, I may not be able to fulfill you wish but I will do everything to keep them safe. This is the payment for the help you did to me long ago."

Morwen nodded at the elder woman. He looked at Leticia and can't help but memorize her face. The queen cried and cried as she hug her husband. She kissed him and told him how much she love him. That he is the greatest and biggest blessing that came in her life. As she walk far from the King, her mourn cannot be unnoticed. She knows. She knows very well that the King will never come back in her life alive.

 "Leticia!!" 

 Leticia immediately looked back as she heard the voice of King Morwen. 

 "Amelia. That's her name. And tell her, that I love her so much!" 

 The queen cried harder with smile on her face. She nodded and soon, was gone in the King's eyes. She will always remember how Morwen wake her up every morning with his magic. She loved everything about her husband. He is the kindest, most handsome, and intelligent person she ever met. While they are inside the magic of Elder Vanitas, Leticia looked at her sleeping daughter in her arms. She's so innocent. She doesn't know what has happened in their Kingdom. 

"Today, you will be Amelia Zarouhi. People can call you Lia. My Lia."

"Your highness, what a beautiful daughter you have."

"Elder Vanitas, she's beautiful. She really looks like....her father."

"Indeed. Queen, I know that it is unsure if you will be able to meet Morwen again in this lifetime. But, his only wish saved the both of you."

"Until the end, he still did not think of himself. Elder, where are we going now?"

"My queen, since the Kingdom of Alium Se Orbem Terrarum no longer exist, we have to move in the Mercenary village."

Leticia was shocked. Mercenary Village is a nation where different species can be found. Most of all, big men known as mercenaries are always there. Will it be safe for them? They are elf.

"But Elder, how are we gonna live there. Our specie is not welcome in their country."

"*smile* Are you asking me how? Leticia, I know for sure what the other power you have"

Leticia flinched. Other power she possess. No one other than her family knows about it.

"Elder, how did yo--"

"How? I am also like you."

"What? You also have the bl---"

"Blood of human."

And then Vanitas changed her appearance into human. Her ears are no longer long and elf like. She now looks like a normal human being.

"This is one of the abilities a half blooded elf have. But, this can only occur if an elf have human blood. My grandfather is a pure human. How about you, you should change your appearance as well as the princess."

Leticia smiled. She did not know that other than her, there is still someone who relates to what she is experiencing. With a swift move, Leticia became a human. Her silver hair which can attract people was changed into brown, her ears in now like of human. Then, she looked at the princess. She inhaled and transformed her into human. Amelia's eyes are now purple, silver hair are now brown, ears just like human. But this transformation only lasts for about a month. Which means they have to be back into their original appearance once every month to renew it. 

"Elder, please do not call me Queen or your highness anymore. Just call me Letty. Can I call you mother?"

Elder Vanitas smiled. Yes, Leticia is indeed like a daughter to her. And they also need to act like a family to avoid suspicion. She nodded and look outside. In few hours, they will land to the Mercenary Village. A country full of men. This may not the best country for beauties like Zia and Lia, but still. Elder's power is at its limit. To recover the strength of her ability, she has to rest for not less than a month. 

Leticia looked outside while humming. They got no choice but to flee. She's very sure that Kylo is now reigning. Morwen may be alive but he will be in prison. But that's okay. As long as Morwen is not dead, she'll be thankful. Mercenary Village, the place where they will start a new life. Elf is not very welcome in this nation as they fear their power. That's why, they have to pretend as normal human. People in this nation are known for their strength. Leticia thought that she should teach Lia some self defense for the future. She no longer cannot alter the image of her daughter as it is not part of her power but at least, she can transform her into human.

My baby, we will survive this. I love you so much.
