Twenty-One
When I left the lab it was late in the evening. The sun had set and there was nothing to guide me back to my dorm but the campus blue lights. Playing hooky last week, and having my head elsewhere the days before, had cost me time on my final projects. I’d been putting in late nights for the past few days.
“You shouldn’t be out walking by yourself, sweet meat. Never know when a predator might be lurking in the dark. A sweet little morsel like you would be too hard to resist scooping up and carrying away.”
I stopped in my tracks at the sound of that deep voice. He was on me before I turned around. His torso brushed up against my backside. His nose sank into my hair.
