Mary's POV The car sped down the road toward the airport. Ryder’s fingers gripped the steering wheel so tightly it looked as though he wanted to crush it. I was paralyzed by the suffocating silence. I knew crying or physically fighting back would be useless. This man was far too strong, and his anger was at its peak. If I wanted to return to the penthouse to open that safe, I had to use my brain, not my brawn. I took a deep breath, swallowing all my disgust and anger, and forced a fake softness.
