“Any word from Jacobs?” Jameson sticks his head into my office.
“No”
“Did you even reach out to her?”
“She said not to reach out”
“Yeah, so?”
He invites himself in and sits opposite me. His eyes on me, probably trying to figure out
what's wrong with me.
“So, I won’t.”
“Why?”
“Because she said not to reach out”
“And when has that ever stopped you?” He leans forward.
I don’t answer that. I don’t have the answer.
“Since her? Never thought I'd see the day Grayson Reed would like a girl so much” He
continues.
“Love. I love her” It comes out instantly, surprising us both. It’s reflex now. Because, I do
love her. Enough to know to lose her.
“For real?” He blinks and then nods. “Well, I mean, you did run away for a year. So did
you meet her before or after you ran away?”
