She couldn't resist showing off her Taekwondo skills in front of the group of bullies.
Without hesitation, she charged toward them and delivered a series of swift kicks. One by one, the bullies fell to the ground, unable to get back up.
She grabbed the two boys by their wrists and led them to her bicycle.
"Come on! Get on," she said.
The two boys climbed onto the bicycle while Dane stood on the pedals instead of sitting on the seat. They laughed as she skillfully balanced the bicycle and rode away.
The bullies could only stare in surprise as she disappeared. She had simply been on her way to buy soy sauce.
When they arrived at the nearby store, the two boys bowed their heads.
"Thank you for saving us," they said sincerely.
One of the boys, Don Steve, looked at her with admiration.
"How did you become so good at fighting? Your kicks were amazing! None of them could even stand up after you kicked them."
Dane simply smiled.
Meanwhile, James couldn't take his eyes off her.
From that day on, the three of them became close friends. James often shared his snacks with her, especially her favorite banana milk. Before long, he became her biggest supporter.
Back to the Present
Mr. Tomas Jonnels began the Mathematics class and started teaching Geometry.
Suddenly, one by one, the students turned their heads toward the hallway.
James and Dane exchanged confused glances before looking toward the door.
Two transfer students had arrived late.
Their teacher noticed them immediately and called them out for interrupting the lesson.
Clearly annoyed, he turned back to the class.
"Since everyone seems interested in what's happening outside, who wants to solve this problem on the board?" he asked.
Dane confidently raised her hand.
She walked to the board and solved the problem within seconds.
Her classmates applauded.
Mr. Jonnels stomped his foot, immediately silencing the room.
"What are all of you doing?" he said sternly. "If anyone else knows the answer, raise your hand. Otherwise, stay quiet so I can continue today's lesson."
Meanwhile, in another classroom, the two transfer students were being introduced by their homeroom teacher, Ms. Juris Ahn, who was known for being much stricter than Dane's homeroom teacher.
One of the students stepped forward.
"Hello, everyone. I'm Meghan Zabka, and this is my friend, Matthew Xolani. It's nice to meet all of you," Meghan greeted the class politely.
