Porter eyed the barely touched food on Maggie’s plate. Over the past twenty minutes, she’d made a good show of pushing it around and rearranging, without actually putting much in her mouth. “Athena’s going to be offended.” With an apprehensive look toward the back door, Maggie scraped the food into the trash and slid the plate onto the stack of dirty dishes waiting to be loaded into the dishwasher. “It’s not the food.
