Chapter one - Painful death

The June rain poured down like warning signs from heaven.

Elena lay in the mud, covered with dirt.

Above her, stood a woman with one foot pressed down on Elena's back, sneering triumphantly.

"Elena Bennett weren't you so proud, never willing to bow your head? fine I'll break every bone in your body today!"

With that the woman signaled to the two men behind her, who immediately moved to act.

Poor Elena already tortured beyond recognition, was now barely clinging to life.

Yet she stubbornly lifted her head staring defiantly at the woman towering above her.

Her body was filthy with blood, but her eyes Shone with an incredible brightness filled with boundless anger and hatred.

In the stormy night, it was a chilling sight to behold.

The woman flinched momentarily but quickly regained her anger. "What are you waiting for? throw her in! I want to see how a dead woman can still defy me!".

The two men responded obsequiously "yes ma'am".

Then they kicked Elena into the swamp, as if she were nothing more than a worthless sack .

Elena knew she was doomed to die today.

Her tragic fate was her own fault, her own stupidity; she couldn't blame anyone else.

But she was unwilling, so unwilling!!!

As her consciousness began to fade, scenes from her life flashed past her eyes like a fast forwarded - movie.

Once, she was the cherished daughter of the Bennett family, adored by all and unconditionally loved by the husband she despised - Damien Cole.

She only hated herself for being so blind, for taking the blame for the man she loved for four years, even breaking ties with her family for him.

This led to her father's death from anger,

her mother's suicide by setting the mansion on fire, and her elder brother had an accident and died.

In the end, all she got was the man she loved - Marcus Shaw's disdainful words: "are you worthy"

Worthy?

She was willing to sacrifice herself for him and yet he asked if she was worthy!

How ridiculous!

Suffocation closed in from all sides, and at the brink of death, Elena felt no fear only regret and the urge to laugh at her absurd foolish life!

But the woman standing nearby delivered one final blow, reveling in victory.

"Oh my dear bestie, I forgot to tell you. Your father died because I pulled out his oxygen tube, I set your mansion on fire, and I caused your elder brothers accident which led to his death...Even the man you love and have spent four years chasing has Long warm my bed..."

Blame yourself for been stupid and letting me easily swallow your family's fortune hahaha..."

Already sinking, Elena heard this and her body trembled, her eyes filled with blood and she let out a guttural roar -

"Victoria Justin, you'll die a horrible death!"

But as she opened her mouth, all that came out were gurgling sounds as the mud flooded her mouth and nose, the suffocating sensation overwhelming her until she was completely submerged.

Everything was gone.

Only the endless hatred remained, burning fiercely, never to be extinguished or dispersed.
