Sixteenth Chapter

Eveline's POV

It's been more than two weeks since our great hangout.

Reece spends most of his time with me. It's like he became someone else, he didn't want to leave me alone, he started eating with us in the dining hall, training more passionately with me...by passionately I mean distracting me with his kisses. I mean I like it! A lot! But I can't focus when he comes behind my back and starts kissing my neck and while his hands are on my belly...shoot, that gives me damn shivers.

It's great that we are in a good relationship. It affected not only my emotional health, but I also improved my abilities. Now I can control and feel all the energy around me, even people's energy! I give the young Lord his credit for a great job.

What about our friends, they like that Reece is happy and changed while being with me. Bern is the number one shipper and Coopers, but except for Levi, he doesn't like that me - regular shifter is kinda dating a Lord. I know he is concerned that I will end up broken-hearted, but he doesn't know that I am a queen and a dragon shifter, oh, about Lana who is the only person who knows my real identity, she talked with Lord Benedict and Reece that she wants to be trained and be a soldier because she doesn't have physical failure anymore after training with our dearest liar Levi. Of course, Reece agreed but told her that she will still be my maid. Lana agreed without hesitation and now the fragile girl tries her best to keep up with the best shifters in the household.

What about Ava's request to be a coach for children. Reece agreed on that too...It's literally so funny, it's like everyone uses Lord while he is in a good mood! I guess that's why friends don't mind our small relationship but why I feel that something is gonna happen...

"Well, hello" whistled Bern when I came with Reece, with clasped hands, and sat near him on the table.

"Good afternoon to you too, Berny" I smiled and glanced at Reece while munching on the fries.

"So, lovebirds, I don't want to interrupt your disgusting PDA but didn't you think about your fiancee, Reece?" asked Maverick who was looking in the mirror and checking himself out. He always ruins the best moments.

I exhaled and moved a little further from the young Lord, he looked at me worriedly but didn't say anything.

"Speaking of..." I noticed the guardian of the devil with others.

"Hey, guys" I smiled, nodding at everyone. "Hello, sweetheart" winked Lark and my heart squeezed in memories...Damn...didn't think I would remember the person who used to call me this way.

Not now.

"Hey, Ava, how is your third day of being a nanny for the chaotic demons?" asked the blue-haired guy, playing with his eyebrows.

"Amazing! and don't call them that! They are adorable!" replied curly-haired after glaring at Bern.

"You just love them and don't see how mean they are" proclaimed Lark. "Oh! As if you were an angel back then" answered Eleanor while rolling her cat-eyes at her brother.

"Oh, please, that's why I know how devilish kids can be! Only by my own experience," stated Lark and put his feet in rock boots on his sister's lap making her squeal, "Experience?! You stabbed me in fourth grade!" she yelled but didn't remove his legs. "I had a reason to, sis" he laughed it off and took a sip of his americano.

Only Eleanor wanted to add something, Bern interrupted, raising his hands at siblings, "Okay! Okay! Shut up you both already!" "What about you, Nathan? Got tired of the fancy lady?" we all looked at the doppelganger of Zayn Malik and waited for his perfect, gentleman reply.

"She is my work, Bern" well, yeah... Ricardo style.

Bern chuckled and rolled his eyes, "Uhuh, work, pft, 'This is your duty, Mister Nathaniel! You should be pleased to accompany me everywhere! I am your Lady!' and on and on" we all laughed at the Bern's mimicking of Melissa and then I looked at Reece who laughed a little but I saw his uneasiness. I grabbed his palm and smiled at him on what he gave me his slight smile.

"Speaking of the Lady Melissa...She was asking for you all these days, your grace" said Nathaniel with a serious expression and kept eye contact with the young Lord.

I looked at Reece and saw how he grimaced, "I hope you didn't tell her anything...You know it's between me and her" replied in an authoritative tone Willer.

"Of course...she will ask these questions herself...maybe even now" replied Nathaniel before standing up and bowing to the coming woman in white dress.

We all looked at the girl. My muscles tensed up instantly and I removed my hand from Reece's as if I burned myself...

I felt Reece's eyes on me but I couldn't look up to meet with his heartbreaking look...

Eleanor frowned and made Lark remove his legs from her just by one look. Ava pretended that she is not here and Bern looked at Lady Melissa daringly. He eyed her so intensely and I am sure he can make everyone nervous with it.

"Good day, your grace...Ladies...Gentlemen" she made a low bow for the Reece and nodded at us.

Oh God, I am getting so sick from this manners!

"Good day to you too, Melissa! How is your day?" grinned Reece at her and I am sure she lighten up just when he pronounced her name. "It got better after meeting you, your grace"

I took a fork and furiously stabbed the chicken and veggies.

"Uhuh..." I looked up with just my eyes and met with Bern's playful eyes who widened when he saw mine. "What?" I asked with a little angry tone to him and he replied back, leaning closely. "I can smell jealousy. Soothe your ardor, Cam, before someone will notice your violet eyes of a killer," he commented with a playful smile before nodding and looking back at Melissa.

"So, my lady. Already ready to walk down the aisle?" great, Bern! You just want me to get all furious?!

Roseberry looked at the guy who dared to add himself into the company of 'high people'.

"Oh, Bern. You are witty as always" she replied with a little annoyance in her soft voice.

Elsher sneered at the girl and checked his nails, "Well, someone should be witty and truthful in this group, wouldn't you agree, lady Melissa?" he now smiled innocently and I bit my inside cheeks so that I would not laugh at this amazing guy.

Bravo, Bern! Nailing it pretty well!

Melissa grimaced and looked back at Reece, hiding annoyance and angriness behind her fake smile.

"Your grace, maybe we should go upstairs and dine in...more pleasant environment?" offered this sly...fox.

I angrily clutched the metal in my hand and breathed heavily. Oh, God knows how I am angry with this situation! I am angry at Reece! At myself! At this overdressed fox!

How I would want Reece to tell her to back off...but we all know that he can't.

"Lady Melissa, I would love to continue eating here with my..." he stopped and looked at us and when his eyes met mine he stopped for some seconds. "Lovely friends" he gave me a smile on which I blushed slightly but then got interrupted by the unpleasant voice of Melissa.

"With all due respect...Your grace...You prefer eating with an outcast instead of me - your fiancee?" she sounded offensive but Reece stood on his ground.

"With all due respect, lady Roseberry...Yes, I would prefer eating with friends who are not an outcast, don't forget that I am training them and one of these outcasts is your guardian...one of the best" Reece narrowed his now dark green eyes and looked at the lady.

Everyone knows how Reece hates when someone lowers someone just because of the status or any other bullshit, maybe this is one of the reasons he loves me...I don't care and I will never will.

I didn't tell him that I am a queen...will everything change when I will tell him?

Melissa didn't reply for a while before standing up and coming too close to Reece.

"I am your fiancee, Lord Reece. Don't forget that or else...you know how your uncle will react, don't you?" she recoiled as fast as she came. With a furious look, Lady Melissa stomped away.

We all sat in silence. Reece looked uneasy and he kept looking on the ground. Melissa definitely knows how to leave a person in torture...must be her mother's genes.

"Are you okay?" I whispered to Reece hoping to receive his charming grin with revealed dimples but he only nodded, not even looking up making his sandy hair fall down on him and hide his eyes.

I decided to leave him and give him time to think about everything...I know how it is to be unsure of your feelings.

Yes, he did tell me that he loves me and this doesn't change the fact that he has a fiancee, he should think about the future and I know he wants to please his uncle...everyone would want to make their parent proud.

"Well, I guess, it's time to go," said Ava before standing up and stretching. "I will come with you. I wanna see those small devils" stood up Lark with a grin on his face. Ava looked at him annoyingly and we all waited for her to correct Lark but she just pursed her lips.

"Want to come, sister?" raven-haired asked Eleanor on what she hesitated but decided to accept her brother's offer. "Alright, let's check out those small creatures" with these words, all three shifters exited the hall, leaving me with, Elshers, golden boy, and Lord.

I finished my food as fast as I could and decided to leave the boys but Bern saved my ass faster.

"Do you want to join me on the training, Cam? Let's see how far you went with his grace ass" he ruffled his blue hair and stood up, taking his jean jacket in his hands.

"Sure!" I followed his movements and tried to leave very fast but where my clumsiness would hide at this moment?

When I tried to push back the chair, I ended up falling on Reece's lap and grabbing his hair as support to stand up.

Shit...

Young Lord widened his eyes at me and after so many minutes I finally saw how a smile crept on his face with dimples and now he gazed at me full of adoration.

He can't love me for this, can he?

"Be careful...don't hurt yourself" he helped me to stand up and remove the chair from the way and soon I was near a blue-haired guy who simply eyed me and his grace with a smirk on his never serious face.

"Yeah...I should be" I replied with a soft, somehow unsteady voice.

Reece tried not to smile and he kept looking at me.

"Goodbye, everyone" murmuring this I hurriedly went to an exit with Bern following behind me. "Speed up, Elsher! You are a speedster but keep being slower than a snail!" I yelled at Bern who was far behind me with a sneer on his face that soon was in front of me.

"You always need to insult people, right?" he asked, rolling his eyes and I laughed off. "Look at you! Since when you are taking so close to heart, mister number one rudeness?" I huffed at him before he embraced me with one arm.

"Chill out...I just didn't want to use my ability, you know, maybe I didn't want to hurt your feelings?" he questioned, raising his eyebrows and leaning close to me with his whole weight.

"Yeah, yeah, hurt my feelings...what a liar you are" I clicked my tongue on what he laughed before saying.

"I will give you an opportunity to kick my butt for this on the training"

"I don't need your opportunity, I will easily kick your butt without you noticing it"
