Eveline's POV
It's been two days since the ball and accident with the young Lord's office. I never heard a thing after that night and nor did I talk to Reece after that. Guys say that he is busy with politics and humans and I am not acting like an annoying girl, plus I don't need to give Lady Roseberry another chance to scold me.
Lana and I became closer and the reason is that she knows who I am but I don't mind sticking with her, she is funny and makes me feel relieved and you know not always watching my mouth.
"I saw you befriended with the most reckless and hot shifters," whispered Lana and bit her lip in excitement. So they are the coolest here, huh.
Yeah, they are nice guys. Do you know them?" I asked without any other thought. Lana cleared her throat and nervously chuckled, "No...you know, servants can't hang out with the army, they are practically elite here, especially if it's that army who trains his grace" she looked down. "Hey, this is actually a stupid rule. I mean, they are nothing 'elite' and they don't act like it," I patted her shoulder and she instantly let out a smile, "I know, but rules are rules...I know them but they don't know me...I am talking particularly about Nathaniel, he is so...aaah" she exhaled while dreaming and drooling over our golden ticket. Lana has a crush on him, well, I am not really surprised, he is handsome, smart, everyone's favorite boy, who wouldn't have a crush on him? Besides, Eleanor and Ava, I don't know about Penelope but those two don't show any deep feelings.
"Did you talk to him?" I asked even though I kinda knew the answer. Lana was a wallflower and she has problems communicating with another gender. When we were walking in the hallway yesterday, we met Maverick who said to her 'Hello love' but that's typical Maverick, he called in fact everyone sweetly in here but poor Lana melted right on the spot and barely stood properly not talking about how she stuttered and looked as if she will cry in a second.
"What?! Of course not! Even though I grew up here with them, we were treated differently and lived in two different worlds," I found out that not only our cool guardians are orphans that became powerful and strong soldiers but servants here are also orphans that just had physical flaws and instead of being in the army they became servants...I think that's very unfair and I feel pure pity.
"I know, Lan...If you want you can go with me tonight to their training zone or how Lark calls it 'Room of torture and pain' come on, it will be fun aaand maybe, you will see half-haked Natha-ni-eeel!!" I played with my eyebrows and she changed her expression in mere seconds from shocked to excited with a hint of thrill.
"Uhh...if you insist" Pft, of course, let's pretend I insisted!
"Great then! wear something cute and you will prepare my training uniform right?" I said, going to the auditorium on the lesson of beast shifters. As I understood, here shifters are more advanced, and let's say smarter about abilities and shifting. This week we have different lessons about that and training with Reece and I won't miss anything! If there is a chance to get my ability to a higher level, I will not let this chance pass away.
"See you tonight" I waved my hand and entered the big, light auditorium like in a damn fancy university and this led me to a thought about Stanford...I wanted to study there but destiny prepared me for this but who I would be if I would do everything I planned?
"Miss Campbell, glad you enjoyed us, come seat" I saw a tall, old woman with platinum hair and in a floral dress.
"Thank you" I sat in the front row, in front of us were panorama windows or maybe it's a glass box, and outside we could see different things. Rocks, pond, trees, and flowers, also there were animals.
"My name is Madame Patricia. Today you will show your abilities and I will help you to open them up fully. Of course, maybe you know how to control it and use it sometimes but every power has a story and...roots. So! Here we have a small environment in which you will use your powers, don't be scared to fail, cause this wall is made from the finest and hardest transparent diamond. Go ahead, who will show us some show?" she mischievously smiled and trailed through students.
"You." she stopped before the slim boy with curly, brown hair. "Me?" he asked, scared.
"Yes. What you got, dear?" asked madame Patricia before she took the boy by the elbow and pulled before the glass wall.
"I-I think I have the ability to manipulate with animals..." he murmured on which madame Patricia smiled genuinely and stood beside him, "Focus." her voice was hypnotizing and my mind was going dizzy from it. The boy as hypnotized began saying something while looking at the monkey behind the glass. Monkey looked at the boy and stood on her two feet and began walking like a human. "Applauds for Mister Scott! Good job. Tell us what you commanded to the monkey" the auditorium clapped but then fell silent as the boy said, "I told it to walk like a human" his voice was stern now and confident, I guess he really felt proud.
"Dear, you are not manipulating them. You talk to the animals," she smiled and looked at us. We applauded Scott and then the teacher searched for another person. "Hm..." she went through me and went to the last row but then I heard her say, "Miss Eveline, would you like to show us your power?" she turned back to me and put her hands behind her back. "Sure..." I wasn't nervous, I just didn't want to fail.
I slowly stood up while going ahead Madame Patricia and stopped where was standing Scott.
"Start." again her hypnotizing voice. Oh God, it's like she is controlling my whole body but I don't obey her.
Nobody can command to true Royal blood.
I inhaled deeply and let out slowly and felt how my eyes glow. Madame Patricia fell silent and I saw how she was confused and then I obeyed to remove suspicion. God, if she will find out...
I raised my hands and eyed the box.
I will show them my power. Ancients had the same power. I am powerful as they were.
I inhaled and felt little tingling through my veins as the purple sparks went forward like a wave. The powerful storm-like wave made papers fly away from the nearest desks and made a strong wind go through the auditorium and what about the glass...It now had long cracks till the ceiling.
I was either shocked or happy. Everyone's eyes were on me as I turned around. Madame Patricia was shocked and couldn't tell a thing, she just moved with her wrinkly mouth up and down, trying to blurt out a word.
I looked through the auditorium and met with my friends' eyes...God, why they are coming not on time!
They were just entering but of course, they saw a hint of weird powerful wave going through the whole freaking space!
"We saw a purple light...strangely it went like a wave through the training zone and we tracked the energy so...what the hell is going on here?" asked Eleanor in confusion as she stared at me.
"I uhm...I just...demonstrated my power..." Levi and Lark looked at each other and rose their eyebrows in unison.
"I think it's enough for today. You all can leave, except for you, Miss Campbell. We will have a private talk" she narrowed her eyes and went to her desk, waiting for me.
"You too, Coopers," she said towards siblings but they didn't move. "Argh..." she exhaled and looked up at 'don't give a f*** siblings' they really just say this with their appearance and behavior.
"You won't go, right?" madame Patricia shook her head and frowned after what we heard, "Nah" "Nope" "Mhm" that made me bite inner cheeks to prevent from laughing. "Alright then. But please stay invisible" they nodded and took seats.
"So, Eveline. What you showed was indeed very impressive. As my mind recalls, you are from the Beast Kingdom?" I nodded multiple times before nervously clutching my hands and digging nails into the palms.
"Did someone tell you that you have ancient powers?" she furrowed her eyebrows in a question.
"Yeah. I found out from the teacher in the academy"
"Good. But for myself, I see these powers for the first time...I saw sparkles and it was like and electricity but it went like an energy wave...I don't know what it is but I think you create an energy" she wore eyeglasses and locked her hands, looking at me scientifically.
Create energy...so I am walking renewable energy?
"I...um, okay, uh, so what should I do?"
"First of all, if it is what I think it is, it will be very hard to control it, I suggest you train with Lord Willer, he knows about abilities more than anyone knows," she concluded and smiled at the last time.
"Thank you. I will meet Lord Willer" I blurted before going to Coopers and exiting.
"Are you in the mood to talk about your newfound info?" asked Lark, receiving a hard punch to the arm from his sister but he didn't even let out a voice. I shook my head and they began changing topic but I couldn't get out of my thoughts.
