Ara "Chloe, how are you doing?" I asked, and the high-schooler looked like she wanted to be anywhere but close to me. I figured that this technique wasn't working out, I needed her to be open to talking to me. She was too closed off. How was she supposed to be talking to me about trauma? We were now in a small parlour by the side of the main living room. I liked the room a lot while I was in the house.
