An Impersonator??

After about an hour, I looked at Tiara and she looked back at me.
“Oh well, things are about to get intense,” she said , and I only offered a slight smile.
Exiting the company, reporters quickly surrounded us, and the security guards were attempting to keep them at bay.
“Is the article that was published true??”
“Are you in a relationship with Ethan Reynolds??”
The reporters kept throwing questions at us with their lights flashing, but I didn’t reply as I made my way to the car.
Levi opened the back door for me, and I was about to get in when one reporter’s question made me halt.
“Is this just a prank or an attempt to gain more attention for your project??” he asked, and I turned to him. Noticing that they had drawn my attention, another reporter followed up with,
“The collaboration between you and the Reynolds, are you both trying to pull off this prank for the project?” he asked.
“Prank?? All I can say is that this is not a joke,” I responded.
“Then does that confirm it?? That you two are indeed in a relationship??” he pressed, but I simply got into the car, ignoring the rest of the questions.
Tiara was sitting in the front passenger seat, and Levi climbed in and started driving. Just then, I opened the tab and smirked at the pictures.
They were images of Ethan and me at the restaurant, especially the one where he was very close to me.
“Levi, you really did an excellent job capturing this so well,” I said.
“Thank you, ma’am,” he replied while still focused on driving.

As I entered the restaurant with Levi beside me, I spotted Ethan already seated.
“You can stay here, I’ll let you know if I need anything,” I told Levi.
“Oh, and don’t forget what I mentioned in the car, take every chance to snap pictures of Ethan and me, okay??” I instructed.
“Okay, ma’am,” he answered as I walked over to where Ethan sat.

“Now the internet is going wild,” Tiara said, and just then my phone began ringing. I set the tab aside and answered the call.
“Hello,” I said, and there was a brief silence.
“What’s the meaning of that??” It was Ethan’s voice.
“How do you like my surprise gift??” I replied.
“Surprise gift?? This isn’t what I agreed to,” he said, sounding a bit annoyed.
“Do you have amnesia or something? You clearly accepted my offer yesterday, and I told you I’d assist you,” I said.
“Accepting your offer doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want,” he said.
“Accepting my offer means I can do as I please,” I countered.
“Oh well, in case you weren’t aware, Skylar is not dead,” he said, causing my eyes to widen.
“What??”
“She’s not dead, she never boarded the plane, and yes, she’s with my father upstairs as we speak,” he said, and I struggled to believe what I was hearing.
“That’s impossible,” I whispered.
“What?? I can’t hear you,” he said before I hung up and Tiara quickly turned to face me.
“Are you okay??” she asked noticing the look on my face .
“Pull over the car,” I instructed, and Levi stopped the car.
“Why are you looking so surprised?? Based on your conversation, I know it was definitely Ethan. Did he say anything??” Tiara asked, and I glanced at Levi, which made Tiara understand immediately.
“Can you please excuse us for a moment??” Tiara asked
“Sure” Levi said and exited the car.
“Now can you talk?? What is going on?? What happened ” she asked, and then I burst into laughter, though it was not genuine but rather a laugh of disbelief.
“Come on, why are you reacting like this?? What did Ethan say??” Tiara pressed.
“He said Skylar isn’t dead,” I replied, and Tiara unbuckled her seatbelt as she focused intently on me.
“What?? Did he discover your true identity??” Tiara asked, looking concerned.
“He said Skylar is upstairs with his father,” I clarified, and Tiara stared at me in disbelief, almost as if questioning my words.
“Huhhhh??” she exclaimed.
“Yes, that’s exactly what he said,” I said.
“That’s impossible, how can there be another Skylar when you are the real Skylar??” Tiara asked.
“That’s why I'm also surprised , what's happening??” I said.
“Could it be that you have a twin somewhere ??” She suggested, and I simply shook my head.
“No, I don’t believe so.”
“You should know because how could another Skylar be at the Reynolds house while you’re sitting in this car with me,” Tiara pointed out.
“Oh , or is Ethan trying you pull your legs??she added
“I don’t think so, he was serious about it” I said
“But that’s just absurd, don’t you think so??” Tiara said
“I need to discover what's happening, get Levi back in the car,” I said.
“And then what?? Go to the Reynolds house and after meeting this other Skylar, will you just tell everyone that ohhh everyone I’m the real Skylar?? Are you planning to put on a show there??” Tiara asked .
“Tiara, we aren't sure who this Skylar is; finding out now is the best course of action,” I replied, and Tiara let out an exasperated sigh.
“Alright, fine,” she said and then opened the door, called Levi, and fastened her seatbelt as Levi climbed into the car.
“Change of plans, we’re headed to the Reynolds house,” Tiara announced, and Levi glanced at her.
“You don’t know the place??” Tiara asked.
“I do,” Levi answered as he kicked the car into motion and began to drive.
Who could this Skylar be?? I thought.
Who is trying to take my identity??? Who is the impersonator??
I need to know.
