Noahs P.O.V
I froze as I saw Leo sitting on my sisters couch. My mind started racing, thinking about how she just left, leaving only a letter behind. She had wrote how thankful she was for everything I had done for her. Nothing more. She had disappeared as fast as I had found her and I had though that I would never see her again. And here she was, right in front of my eyes. I would have been lying to myself if I'd said that I felt absolutely nothing for her. Because the truth was that I felt this pull towards her, I wanted to know everything about her and felt this need to protect her.
"Hi!", Leo said and I snapped out of my thoughts. I quickly realized she was just as surprised to see me as I was to see her.
"Hey!", I replied, giving her a smile and letting out a breath I didn't even know I was holding in. My heart melted when she returned the smile. She sat on the end of the couch with a blanket over her. Her hair was in a messy bun with a few stray curls framing her face perfectly.
"Yes! Okay, Noah meet Leo my favorite neighbor and Leo meet my annoying rich brother", she said teasingly towards me and took a seat next to Leo who gave out a small giggle.
"So what brings you over to my boring sister Emmas house this late?", I asked as I went towards the kitchen to grab a glass of water. The question was meant for Leo, but my sister being the interrupting, rude being she is, answered in her place.
"She's locked out of her apartment", Emma said. Locked out? Who would lock someone out of their own apartment? Especially a young beautiful girl like Leo. I looked at Leo confused and Leo looked at Emma, surprised that she had answered the question for her.
"How?", I asked curiously. Leos head snapped to look at me over the couch. She looked pained. I moved over to the armchair that was in front of Leos end of the couch and sat down, making it easier for us to talk face to face.
"Well it's quite simple", Leo began. I carefully listened, wanting to let her know that I cared about the answer. "The man I live with locked the door and I forgot my keys before I went to work. So here I am", she motioned with her hand at the whole room and me and Emma.
"Man?", Emma spitted out. "More like a 100 year old drunk who smells like dog s**t", she continued. Leo looked at her with warning eyes. I wanted to keep asking questions, but something told me that this wasn't the time.
"Well, I'm gonna head to bed!" Emma exclaimed and pushed herself out of the couch. She started picking up the dishes that were on the coffee-table in front of the couch and Leo quickly went to help. I could tell how much pain she was in. I knew she had some injuries from when I took her to my place, but I hadn't exactly examined her or anything. I had just given her some morphine and nothing else. I didn't even know where or how she was injured. All the questions swarmed my head until Leo came back and sat back down. I gave her a faint smile, which she registered and returned.
"How old are you?", she asked. I was surprised at the sudden question, but quickly got back my confident and calm self.
"I'm 26", I replied. I saw how her face became shocked and she just stared at me with wide eyes.
"Whaaaat!?", she gasped and I couldn't help but chuckle. "I thought you were like 23!" she said and she herself giggled, which made me chuckle even more.
"How old are you?" I returned the question, realizing that I didn't know her age too.
"21", she simply answered. I didn't really care about her age.
"Well I hope that my age didn't disappoint you", I said. I saw the surprise in her eyes at my comment and how her face turned to worry like she had made me offended. I couldn't help my stupid big grin when she tried to explain that she didn't care about my age, not wanting to offend me. We continued talking and laughing and I could feel a invisible bond between us getting stronger, which was both scary and intriguing. She really knew how to make me laugh and we had the same kind of humor, which led to conversations when we both laughed until we cried, trying to make sentences to complete our stories. After a couple of hours I went to the bathroom to find the little angel sleeping on the couch when I got back. I put the blanket, that had fallen to the floor beside the couch, on her. She adjusted a little by the touch, but didn't wake up. I brushed a couple of curls out of her face, adoring her for a couple of seconds before heading to bed.
I woke up by my alarm. It was 7 a.m and I could smell eggs and bacon coming from the kitchen. I got out of bed and walked into the kitchen, realizing that Leo was gone once again. Was she just gonna keep disappearing without saying goodbye? I though to myself, a little disappointed. I ate breakfast with my sister and proceeded to get ready for work. When I was about to head out, I heard glass break and a small scream coming from the apartment next door. I exchanged looks with Emma and she led the way to the apartment. I knocked on the door. It took some time before the door opened and I saw Leo. She opened it just enough so she could peek her head through and look at us.
"Everything okay? We heard glass break and a scream", I said, looking at her with a serious frown.
"Yes! Sorry about that! I dropped a plate and it shattered and I got a little startled, but thanks for asking" she replied giving me a smile I could tell was fake. I tried looking behind her, but I couldn't se anything.
"Sorry but I gotta go, see you guys some other day!", she abruptly said and closed the door before I could answer. I couldn't do anything so I continued to head to work.
Work carried on as usual. I examined patients, took vitals and did some paperwork. I owned one of the biggest hospitals in the world, right here in New York. It was one of the things that I was the most proud of. I had gotten help from my parents, which were filthy rich as well, but I had pretty much built up my fortune all on my own.
"Come in", I said as I was about to take in the last patient of the day. I looked up from my papers to recognize the most beautiful face in the world.
