ConfirmationsCarthinal stood outside Wolnarb's office. He looked at the wall for any signs that there was a secret door. He could see nothing, in spite of his superior eyesight, gained from elven half of his heritage. Where the stairs would have continued up to the next level, there was nothing but a stone wall. Carthinal punched it in a sudden burst of anger, then shook his bruised fist.
Once in the office, he sat down on the chair behind Wolnarb's desk. There must be a way through the wall, he reasoned. Wolnarb had appeared in the top room when The Cat was there and he had come up the stairs. Perhaps he had teleported to just outside the door?
