Sorcerers -Linh
Linh stared at a glowing object in the sky ahead. Fire burned through the air towards the ship’s deck on her left. Her heart thundered against her chest. Someone groaned. The fire began to flare sideways. The flames flickered, a warm breeze blew across the deck, then the fire faded to smoke, which was blown away by the wind.
She clutched her chest, grappling with the fact that in a split second the whole deck and every Urai soldier standing on it had been spared being set alight.
“By the sky gods!” one of the soldiers murmured behind Linh. “They can wield shield magic!”
“You didn’t know?” Linh asked shakily, unsure whether the idea of being attacked or defended by magic made her giddier.
