Know Your Enemy -Ruarnon
After a midday meal in Flariah’s dining hall, Ruarnon asked Poran and Dargus, via Linh, “How much do you know of Nartzeer? I assume you have met him?”
Both men still looked pale. Had Poran’s eyes been that dark before? Dargus fidgeted, glancing around the table as if unsure what to say. There could be no doubt that answering this question would involve saying things they should not be telling Nartzeer’s enemy. They couldn’t stay loyal to Nartzeer and answer Ruarnon. But was Dargus fidgeting, or squirming with guilt? Desperation to atone battled loyalty to Nartzeer in both men’s eyes. Poran let out a deep sigh and Ruarnon wondered which driving force had won out.
