But he made me, love made me. I know the only thing to me cool down, this blaze of fire is fire itself. The fire in his eyes I see. He talked to me yesterday. I was happy to finally find a light of hope. My best friend Ariel keeps telling me he's just being friendly. But I know, that's sudden touching of hands or flirting thorough class isn't just being friendly. But my mind always questioned, Was he like this to every girl he used to see? Was he a player? I was scared of something for the very first time. But I think that's how it works, how love works.'' Mathew kept the diary down as he heard something. A girl vanishes into thin air who was observing him the whole time hiding behind the cupboard as he woke up from his bed. He went downstairs to hear it more clearly. The door, he reminds himself. Someone was knocking as Mathew walked to it panicking. He didn't want to see that face that made his mom so miserable today. He slowly opens the door as a sees an unfamiliar face. ''Hi..'' her soft tone reaches his ear as he widens the door more to look at her face properly. The sunlight was falling on her making her blond hair shinier. Her face looked creamy because of the sun daze. Her appearance was quite simple. Her hair was open. She was wearing a yellow floral dress which flowed up to her knee.''Can I help you?'' he knew she couldn't be someone from this area since it was a face he couldn't remember. '' Yeah, your aunt told me to come to you. '' ''My aunt? '' he asked baffled. '' Yeah, she said you would be lonely. So... '' she looked down as her cheeks brushes the colour pink. '' So, it would be good if I give you some company. '' her head rises as she tries to search Matthew's answer. '' I don't need your company. I am fine. '' he stammers completing the lie. He tries to close the door but the little girl stops him pushing it back scaring Mathew a bit, '' Come on.. We need each other. I am alone too. '' She says as her voice screamed help. ''Where are your parents?'' Mathew asks checking, '' I only live with my dad and at the moment he's at work. '' Mathew finding a good reason opens the door for her as she smiles stepping in. '' Wait! '' before raising her foot he stops her. '' What's your name? '' he asks politely. '' Summer'' she replies. '' Summer Lockwood. '' She walks inside the house rhythmically . She looked around dazzled inhaling in the old wooden smell. '' Your house is really pretty. '' she exclaims. ''Mathew shuts the door behind him answering shyly,''Yeah but it's small too. '' She sits on the couch by herself as she tries to pick up the diary Mathew left on the table. '' Wait stop! '' he shouts at her once again as her hand pauses in the middle.'' Is it yours? '' she asked smilingly. '' Yes. '' he stutters lying once again. He keeps in inside his bag as he closes the chain. Sitting on the chair fixing his bangs he starts breathing heavily. '' You are really quiet. You know that? '' she says teasingly. '' Actually.... '' he wants give her some reason of his quietness. That he is afraid to mix with people. He is afraid to believe in people because when that believe vanishes the only thing that is left with us is their inner scary faces. '' You know you can talk to me. '' she says watching Mathew keeping his head down. '' I can be your friend. '' she assures. ''I don't need a friend'' Mathew immediately replies as he knows how this works. The only friends he got was the bullies who were only nice to him when they needed someone to do their homework. '' Okay fine. If you say so.'' she sighs creaking a smile as she rises up from the sofa exploring the house. '' What are you doing? '' Mathew asks scared. A stranger roaming around his house was putting him in a nervous situation. But he didn't know that Summer wasn't just a stranger. She was something he had never seen. She walks as if the bees are surrounding her like she is the nectar of a beautiful flower. Her steps brings the air of summer flowing everywhere . Her essence has this remarkable summer flavor which makes you forget its dense fall. Her smooth hair dances in the air as she takes her steps proceeding to the polaroid stuck on the fridge. She picks it up as Mathew stood up to stop her. '' Hey! '' he yells. '' Stop touching things. '' he says finishing as he realized he shouldn't say something that might upset her. Summer doesn't mind Mathews words. She still had her eyes staring at the happy family that doesn't exist anymore. '' Tell me..Mathew.. '' she says looking at picture while Mathews heart started beating faster hoping it isn't something he can't answer. '' What happened to your mom? ''
