The sunlight keeked via the window as the strokes of the balmy light plants on his face. His lids were opened as he breathes relentlessly like a half awaken corpse. His face bears the warm sensation of the sun which is pleasing to his mind. The door in his room rattles. Three knocks were applied. '' Mathew! '' An impatient voice entered from the other side of the room. Aunt Lisa didn't wanna pressurize him. She could sense his presence. He was awakened listening slowly. She tells, '' Its okay if you want to miss school today, dear . I totally understand. '' She pauses herself hoping to get a response. But there were only silence encircling the house. Aunt Lisa hopelessly turns her feet around leaving him alone. Mathew sighs remembering the mantra, '' It's okay. It's okay. Everything will be okay in the end. '' But when will this end will finally pass by? He rolled out of his bed frustrated. '' It's gonna okay! '' He clenched his fist tightly humming it frequently . He was stalling in the room from one place to another repeating the same lines without ceasing himself. Losing aspiration it came to a halt. His body smashed down sitting on the floor just when he commenced to wail and twinge. Aunt Lisa was making her normal day to day English breakfast. However, it wasn't that normal for Mathew. Normal was something he was craving for. Aunt Lisa heard footsteps climbing down the wooden stairs as they creaked. Her lips twisted into a smile. '' Mathew! '' A hint of happiness chased her tone. Mathew headed to the counter facing her. '' Yes? '' He spoke huskily. He gives a tight-lipped smile assuring he's okay. After breakfast, Mathew grabbed his bag to leave for school. '' Matt, if you wanna talk.. '' Mathew stopped his walk towards the door. He doesn't dare to look at her. '' It's fine. I am fine. '' He stammers barely keeping up with the lie. Aunt Lisa stared at his back replying, '' Okay. Let me know if something goes wrong. '' Mathew nods as he paced to the door slamming it behind him. The bell rings the students rushed to enter the main entrance. The school bus arrived right in time. Mathew stepped out inhaling the fresh air, to cleanse out the raw ones stuck inside him. He begins his walk as a kid pushed him down. He fell on the floor but it didn't hurt like earlier. '' I heard you're mom's in the hospital. '' '' Don't say it. '' Mathew whispers while his face hugged the muddy road. '' Did you try to kill her again ? '' The boy said as he gathered other kids to laugh along him. He encircled Mathew. He foot stops when his shoes were set in front of Matthew's eyes. '' You do know it's your fault. '' Mathew couldn't control the anger anymore. It took the form of a monster he had never imagined . His hands jerked up to the bully's shoes as he pulled his leg making him crash. The crowd was quiet to see Mathew acting like never before . Mathew rose up bravely standing on his feet. He stared down to meet the bully's black pupil responding ferociously, '' Do not say that again! '' He ordered as the boy nodded in pain. He couldn't understood the nature of his behavior. It was like he was possessed by a demon and that feeling was a miracle to him. While in first period, Matthew's hands were shaking so much that he couldn't even get a proper grip of the pen. He was too exhausted to keep his eyes open. He kept glancing at the clock as the lids were reopening. '' Mathew! '' His teacher yelled to get his attention. Mathew leapt a little in surprise as his desk went forward owing to the sudden motion. The class giggled watching Mathew being so clumsy. The teacher spots the villain in the audience who was causing the main disturbance . The bully shuts his mouth forthwith coping up with the angry glares. The teacher placed his legs down that was lying on the desk improperly few minutes ago. He fixes his throat before saying something rude. He was aware of Matthew's situation. He takes the risk to lower his voice, '' You okay? '' Mathew notes his teacher's kindness. '' You look like s**t! '' The teacher knows that it is inappropriate for him to curse in front of middle schoolers. But he isn't afraid of anything except for the little boy. '' Did you get enough sleep last night, Matt? '' Mathew doesn't know what to say and what to not. Who will dare to understand? and who would just ignore? So, he resolute to bury the truth. The end of first period was marked when the bell rings unpleasantly. But it paved a way for Mathew to escape the reality once more. Mathew elevates himself with the other kids. He huddled outside the crowd before everyone. On his way, as he was running to search peace he crashed onto a girl sloppily. Her bag fell down post-haste. He knelt down to pick it up. He upraised himself to hand over her thing. That's when he espied the completely familiar face. '' Mathew! '' Summer was excited to discover a friend in a land of freakishness. '' What are you doing here? '' Mathew asked dubiously. '' I never saw you in West Bridge before. '' '' Maybe you didn't look hard enough, '' Summer acknowledged. '' Anyway, we didn't know each other so I guess.. '' Summer tries to say. '' No! I know everyone here. I was born in this ugly town. '' He remarked. '' Hey loser! WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO? '' The kids followed him as they took the chance to start a fight with Mathew. Summer flattens her hand in the air as if she was stopping the bully from something. The boy held his head like a headache miraculously appeared. His friends had tension painted over their faces. '' What's happening? What did you do? '' Mathew backtracked observing the boy in pain. He bumped onto Summer as she held his hands out of blue. '' Let's run before the teacher notices us. '' He listened to her as they both began to compete with the wind. Summer was close to her destination . Everyone was in class by then. The empty halls were waiting for them to step on. Summer crossed the halls with Mathew as they reached the back entrance. '' This door is always locked. '' He mentions. But Summer cuts a grin as she opens it smoothly stepping outdoor. Mathew gaped at the scene and soon trailed her footsteps. '' Where are we going? and what just happened there? I mean, how did you do it? '' Mathew was looking for an explanation. '' Enough with the questions Matt. '' Summer interjects. She started prowling but Matthew's doubts grew more. Matthew pay heeds to the lonely streets and trees covered in mists. '' Where are we going? '' He sounded irritated by that second. Summer stopped walking as she whirled around to murmur, '' Home. ''
