When Sloane reached the intensive care unit, she spotted Dominic standing beside the dean.
“Hello, Dean. Alpha Volkov.”
She greeted them calmly, though her mind was already on Mr. Brown’s chart.
Before she could open her mouth to report his condition, a strange sound pierced the steady rhythm of the ward.

Her instincts kicked in immediately.
