“I’m not doing it!” I growled furiously at my father for the umpteenth time. He was adamant about mating me with some random Beta from another pack, but I refused to just a be a negotiation pawn. I wouldn’t mate with someone just for the sake of peace treaties and allegiances, I wasn’t just some property to be traded, especially not to some lowly Beta.
I could feel the rage, slowly building with every nagging persistent word he uttered, not understanding the meaning of the word no. I closed my eyes, fighting back the fury from bleeding through to my irises, heeding my mother’s warnings to never allow anyone to witness the red tint that threatened to seep through, not even my own father.
“You will do as I say Kendra” he snarled in his Alpha tone
