I need to get this to Caleb as soon as possible, there’s no telling how far the poison has progressed but hopefully he isn’t so far gone that his wolf won’t be able to heal him. I reach his room, panting for air. The nurse attending to him rushes to my side but I wave her away, not trusting anyone after what the last nurse had done. I gingerly lift his head, tilting it so I can administer the antidote, then wait for signs of improvement. I pull the blanket from him, revealing his festering leg. Seth is standing behind me, just as anxious. Together we wait and stare for what feels like an eternity, anxiously praying for any sign that he will recover.
