The corridor was narrow and poorly lit, which suited them fine.
Soren and Cody moved through it in a tight two-man stack, trading the point position in silent rotation, their fields of fire overlapping to cover every angle the space offered. Two gunmen came around a corner at a run and were dropped before either one had finished raising his weapon. The suppressed reports were short and flat in the confined space, and the bodies hadn't finished falling before Soren and Cody were already stepping past them.
They reached a closed door on the left side of the corridor. Cody moved to the far side of the frame in a smooth U-step, hand closing around the handle, back flat against the wall. Soren positioned himself opposite, rifle up, and gave a single nod.
Cody pulled the door open.
