Chapter One

1120 Words
" Alexandra Margret Silver !" Alex stilled in her attempt to climb over the wall. She was already halfway through and had both of her legs on either side of the smooth concrete She glanced down to see an incredibly good-looking man with silver hair and pale skin. He was dressed in a white tonic with gold lacing, tight leather leggings, and a white cloak thrown over him. Beside him stood the old woman who had tried stripping her when she woke up, the woman was dressed in a ridiculous ball gown Alex didn't understand what was going on. All she could remember was dying from a grenade blast and the next thing she knew she opened her eyes and found herself in an expensive-looking bedroom The horror she had felt at waking up at an entirely unknown place while supposed to be dead, was made worse when that woman suddenly barged into the bedroom and demanded that she stripped and got ready. Got ready for what exactly? Where the hell was she? She had to find a way out of here! She had to get away from these weirdly dressed people and get home, there was a war waiting to be fought " Get down here this instant" The silver-haired man snapped at her, authority in his voice as stared at her with his captivating silver eyes in high disapproval " Have you lost your mind? Is this how a lady is meant to behave?!" " Who cares about that?! Where am I? Who are you, people?" " My lord, the lady must have hit her head " The old woman cried in distress. Alex rolled her eyes in irritation and tried once to jump to the other side of the fence " Alexandra! Stop this right now" His handsome face flushed in visible anger " Get down before you fall" " I don't know who the heck you are, but my mom is waiting back home for me" She didn't notice the way the man tensed at her words nor paid any mind to the old woman's wails as she jumped down from the fence. She landed harshly on her feet, her ankles pretesting in pain as she continued to walk on them She could hear the silver-haired man yelling out commands, probably orders to capture her. Alex chose to ignore the long silver hair that stuck to her face and fell to her lower back, a hair that wasn't hers. They weren't allowed to grow their hair out back in the military so she always kept it at shoulder length, not to talk of having it in the bright silver color it was now Her body was much smaller now and lacked the muscles she had grown over the years, it was just like her body when she was eighteen years old The world outside the walls she had escaped from was dulled by the tall trees that towered over her. It turned out that the mansion was built in the middle of the forest. Alex had caught a glimpse of the large castle-like building she had woken up in. It was so large that it took her several minutes to locate the end of its walls She walked in hastened steps and was hopeful when the trees grew shorter and the bushes denser the further she walked. The thin silk fabric that wrapped around her body in the form of nightwear didn't do much to keep out the cold. She might have to make money to buy new ones Alex didn't care where she was except for the fact that she was alive. Though she was a bit confused about how she got to this place she was also thankful because it meant that she could see her mom again. The woman must be worried sick, Alex might ask for a leave to go see her for some days when she finds her way back to the barracks The forest finally gave way to a large open field. She could see what appeared to be a town in the far distance. Apart from that, she couldn't make out a single soul around this place. Maybe she really shouldn't have left the mansion without making plans. Her feet were sore and she didn't think she could manage the walk it took to reach that little town " s**t" She slumped down o the grass with a helpless sigh. Where was she? How was she still alive? All those questions threatened to give her a headache She didn't have a phone or a GPS to pinpoint her exact location. Her head was still foggy and she felt nauseous. She had died and then she had woken up again, in a breathtaking room surrounded by people who dressed like royalty The sound of a horse galloping somewhere behind her could be heard and she paused. Was she hearing that, or was it her brain signaling she had finally lost it? However, she realized it was real as she heard the voice of a man coming somewhere behind her. She hurriedly shuffled to her feet as her eyes studied a crowd of about ten hefty men all dressed in armor and holding shiny metallic swords walking towards her from the forest A silver-haired male, whose features were much similar to the man she had seen before but much younger and even more handsome, rode a white horse behind the men Her brows rose as she spotted his outfit. What was it with the people here and royal Disney getups? She figured after all, who would want to be caught in the twentieth century going about in that? He dismounted from his horse and approached her, the rest of the men keeping a distance from them, almost as if afraid they would scare her away like she was going to be frightened by them, she's seen far worse Alex opened her mouth to say something but her words never made it out as she was suddenly wrapped in a warm embrace by the male The smell of lavender assaulted her nose and the fabric of his tonic felt soft against her skin. Her face heated up as this was the first time she was this close to a man before, and a breathtaking one at that " Father told me everything " He spoke against the shell of her ear making them grow redder. Despite the stern look on his face, his voice was incredibly soft and dripping with affection. " Am sorry your big brother wasn't here earlier. " Alex frowned in confusion. Who's big brother? What the hell was this guy talking about? Has she finally lost her mind?
