Dean left Mia’s apartment and made a phone call as soon as he arrived home. Without waiting for a response, he blurted out, “Beverley. It’s me. Mia knows about us…”
Beverley gasped, “What? What happened?”
“I told her that David knew and long story short, she found out that we slept together…”
Beverley stopped breathing on the other end of the phone.
Dean continued, “Listen to me. She’s devastated. And I’m really worried she’s going to do something stupid. I’m going away to Japan for the week. Could you please please check on her today when you get a chance. She won’t talk to me but I’m hoping that she will talk to you. I think she wants to talk to you. Please?”
Beverley whispered, “Why has this become such a mess… I think David…”
