When Knight comes across Blane, he is lying in the center of his bed, surrounded by a partially constructed nest, with a distressed expression on his face. His mouth has been pulled down into a pout, and his eyes are large and glassy from unshed tears. The alpha had just followed the scent to their shared room. It smelled in the entire room. Blane lets out two large tears as Knight observes. Knight is startled. He rushes through the space and into the incomplete nest of the omega. He holds Blane's cheek and uses his thumbs to wipe away his tears. “Baby, what’s wrong?” he suddenly asks.
