“Ethan, my son…” Mike exclaims as he strides into my office.
“You've lost the privilege of calling me that, Mike,” I cut him off bluntly.
He pauses, taken aback by my directness. Did he truly believe we could sweep it all under the rug and start anew? As if he hadn't used me as a pawn in his vile plans?
“Alright, point taken. Thank you for agreeing to meet me face to face.” He says, taking a seat across from my desk.
“I agreed to this meeting, but let's not pretend there's any warmth between us. Here are the papers for you to sign,” I assert, tossing the contract closer to him.
He takes the papers and flips through the first pages of the document.
