A mind link opened from Cassie, telling me that Leah was awake. I was in the office working, but as soon as she mentioned Leah, I felt my heart burst.
Lynx was happy to hear she was awake and bugging me to go and see her.
We went to the hospital, but I could hear the whole conversation with Jenny as I approached.
The anger that came from her was hard to bear; she was clearly pissed with her mum. I couldn't help but listen in. Everything she went through as a child, something no child, whether werewolf or human, should ever experience what Leah went through—being abandoned by a parent.
I could feel Lynx agree in my head as anger filled our veins.
My heart went out to Leah. She had every right to be angry, but with how Jenny acted, this would end badly for both her and me.
