Jackson It had been three days. Three agonizing days since I'd visited Caleb. I was expecting a reply—an update. I'd stationed guards close to the borders in case Caleb came looking for me. I wanted first-hand information. But so far, I'd been disappointed. Right now, I was considering going to him tonight to see what was wrong. He was supposed to have found a way to check the Blue Moon Pack for Phoenix's whereabouts. I had to find her. I just couldn't bring myself to mate with someone else. I loved Phoenix too much to do that to her. As I reviewed the pack's recent expenditures and the various requests from pack members, I was barely paying attention. I was looking at the papers but not really seeing them. My mind was elsewhere. The numbers blurred together. The words meant nothing.
