“I decided to behave like a normal person,” Sakshi replied confidently. Meera burst out laughing. “That’s cute.” “I’m serious.” “Mhm.” Sakshi crossed her arms. “Listen carefully. We are not making unnecessary assumptions today.” “About?” “You know exactly what happened.” Meera’s grin widened instantly. “Ohhh. Professor Rain Dialogue.” “Stop calling him that!” “Never.” Sakshi rolled her eyes dramatically while the two of them started walking toward the academic block together. “Anyway,” Sakshi continued, trying to sound casual, “he might not even be our professor.” Meera hummed thoughtfully. “That’s true.” Finally. A sensible sentence. “There’s also a possibility,” Meera added innocently, “that he walks into class in five minutes and ruins your emotional stability completely.” Sakshi looked genuinely offended. “You enjoy my suffering way too much.” “I enjoy observing cinema in real life.” Before Sakshi could argue further, a group of students suddenly rushed past them toward the notice board near the entrance. “What happened?” Meera asked curiously. “I think they posted class allocations!” Immediately, students crowded around the board excitedly. Sakshi and Meera exchanged one look before quickly joining the crowd. And for some reason… Sakshi suddenly felt nervous all over again. After struggling through the crowd for nearly five minutes, Sakshi finally found their classroom allocation. “Room 204,” she read aloud. Meera sighed dramatically beside her. “Second floor already. My academic downfall begins with stairs.” Sakshi laughed softly as they started walking toward the academic block. The corridors were much livelier today compared to yesterday. Students filled every corner with the campus, carrying notebooks and coffee cups while trying to figure out schedules and classrooms. Everything finally felt like real college life. Almost unconsciously, Sakshi slowed her steps. .As they climbed the stairs toward the second floor, a cool breeze drifted through the open corridor windows. Something about the morning felt unusually beautiful today. The sky was still covered with soft grey clouds left behind after yesterday’s rain, but sunlight now slipped gently through them, making everything glow faintly gold. For a moment, the entire campus looked straight out of a dream. Sakshi stopped walking completely. Meera noticed immediately. “What happened?” But Sakshi didn’t answer right away. She simply looked up at the sky. The wind brushed lightly through her hair while distant birds crossed the clouds slowly. And suddenly— Without warning— That balcony dream flashed through her mind again. “Sakshi?” She blinked back to reality slowly. Meera followed her gaze toward the sky and smiled faintly. “You really notice little things, don’t you?” Sakshi looked away from the clouds quietly. “I like the skies,” she admitted softly. “Especially after rain.” Meera grinned immediately. “That sounds exactly like something a writer would say.” Sakshi smiled slightly. Meera glanced at the time on her phone and her eyes widened instantly. “Sakshi.” “Hm?” “I think we should hurry to class.” Sakshi blinked. “Why?” “Because,” Meera said dramatically while grabbing her wrist, “our very first class is about to start.” “Oh no.” The peaceful sky appreciation moment ended immediately. The two girls hurried down the corridor quickly while other students rushed around them trying to find classrooms. “Why is everyone walking so fast this early in the morning?” Sakshi complained while adjusting her bag. “Because, unlike you,” Meera replied breathlessly, “some of us are not emotionally connected with clouds.” “I was not emotionally connected with clouds.” “You literally stared at the sky like a poetry narrator.” Sakshi tried not to laugh while they finally reached Room 204. The classroom door was still open, thankfully. A few students had already taken seats while others continued entering noisily. Conversations filled the room with nervous excitement. Meera immediately walked toward an empty bench near the window. “Perfect spot,” she announced proudly. Sakshi sat beside her, trying to calm the strange nervousness inside her chest again. “Relax,” she whispered to herself internally. “It’s just class.”
