The City of Atlantis

"Hey! Saan ba talaga tayo pupunta? I don't want this! I never wished for this!" sigaw ko sa kanya habang lumalangoy kame sa malalim at madilim na parte ng karagatan.

Hindi ako nito pinansin at nag patuloy lamang sa pag langoy. Napahawak ako sa mga braso ko at hinimas ito habang sinusundan siyang lumangoy. I'm getting shivers all over my body seeing this dark side of the ocean.

There are no fishes and coral reefs. Just plain sand, darkness, silence and abandoned stuff waiting to be found by the owners that may have had longed forgotten them.

"Pwede bang sagutin mo ako?" sabi ko dito para pagtakpan ang takot na nararamdaman ko.

I bit my lip when I had a glimpse of my upper body. I'm just wearing a gold shimmering shell which is covering my chest. My hair is freely flowing on the rhythm of the movements of the water.

"Sa pagkaka alam ko naman ay hindi ka pipi at bingi!" mabilis akong lumangoy para maabutan ito.

Hinawakan ko ang braso nito. "Pwede bang sagutin mo na ang tanong ko?"

He just stared blankly at me and removed my hand from his arms and continued swimming. Napanguso ako at mariing pinikit ang mga mata ko. Wishing that this is all just a dream and everything will be the same as it was before.

Natatakot ako. Oo. Natatakot ako. Sino ba namang matinong tao ang hindi matatakot kung bigla mo nalang malalaman na ang mga nilalang na hindi niyo inakalang nabubuhay ay totoo pala? At ngayon ay isa pa ako sa kanila!

I don't even know that they exist yet now I am one of them? I don't know what will happen to me here in the oceans and the only merman that I know is completely shutting me out!

I opened my eyes and I was taken aback when I saw him so close to my face, his forehead creased and eyebrows knitted. He was staring at me as if he sees my mind, my psyche, my soul, my pains,and everything I've been through.

I can't help but to admire his gorgeous and perfect face. He's like the son of Poseidon. The King and the Ruler of the ocean. I have seen a lot of man but this is the first time that I see one being more f*****g handsome and hot when he's angry or mad.

Dahan dahan ay marahan niyang hinawakan ang kamay ko. Pinag salikop niya ang mga kamay namin at mahigpit itong hinawakan na para bang nakasalalay ang buhay niya sa pag hawak sa kamay ko.

Walang sinasabi na kahit ano ay marahan ako nitong hinatak at pinag patuloy namin ang pag langoy. Suddenly, all my fears and thoughts banished. My mind is calm and at peace.

My eyes widened when I saw a city where we are heading. So Atlantis really does exist! My mouth parted when I saw, not only two or three more mermaids and mermans but a whole community of their kind.

"Mermaids and mermans are called Mereos and we are here in the Alpha Kingdom. There are four kingdoms here in Atlantis. Alpha, Chalcedon, Dawn and Genesis."

I pouted when I realized that he won't explain further. How am I suppose to cope up here when all I know is, Atlantis is made up of four kingdoms and they are called Mereos?! What a pain in the a*s!

Oh! You don't have glutes now, Marina! Meron kang buntot! I heard him chuckled. I stiffened when I felt his hand around my waist pulling me closer to him.

"Don't worry, I'll answer all your questions later. Now, be a good girl and stay close to me. . ." He whispered in my ears.

Nakita ko ang mga sirena at sireno na nagtataka at palihim na tinitignan kame na para bang ito ang unang beses na makita nilang tumawa ang lalakeng katabi ko. Ipinagkibit balikat ko na lamang iyon.

Nagpatuloy kame sa pag langoy at hindi ko mapigilang hindi mapatingin sa paligid at mamangha sa kagandahan ng Atlantis. Now I wonder why he said that every siren here is cursed. There is nothing to be sad of being trapped in here forever. Atlantis is such a magical place.

There are a lot of shell like buildings and round styled shops with shimmering lights glowing all around.

Napa awang ang labi ko nang makarating kame sa tapat ng isang napaka laki at engrandeng kastilyo. What made me more surprised is when the merman guards bowed down at the sight of this man beside me.

And it hit me! I don't even know his name, and the color of our tails is different from the mermaids and mermans that I saw earlier. Their tails only consists of the colors of red, orange, yellow, green, violet and blue. I saw none of shimmering gold tails.

He smirked when he saw me realizing stuff. He's a royal? Ang mga katanungan sa isipan ko ay lalo lamang dumami.

He pulled me inside the enormous castle and a lot of maid mermaids welcomed us by bowing down. He pulled me upstairs and led me to his room? I looked around and saw nothing but black and white. I swam to his bed and sat on it.

"Can you explain everything to me now?" tanong ko sa kanya.

He looked at me and his eyes dilated at the sight of me sitting on his bed. My lips parted a bit and I bowed down out of embarrassment.

My breathing hitched when he swam closer to me. "You don't need to know anything, Woman. You just need to stay close to me and you'll get everything you want. . ." He said in his deep and husky voice.

Napanguso ako. As if I can argue with him, I don't even know his freaking name!

Umangat ang sulok ng labi nito. "Everybody here in atlantis calls me Rogue, Woman. . ."

Kumunot ang noo ko. "Stop reading my mind, merman!" naiinis kong sigaw dito.

He let out a sexy laugh and swam towards me. Tumayo ako saka lumangoy paatras. I squealed when he held my arm and pulled me closer to him. Kumalabog ang puso ko.

"What are you doing?! You can't just pull and ignore me whenever you want! Hindi mo ako laruan!" sigaw ko dito.

His jaw clenched and he touch the side of my face. He looked at my face as if he's memorizing every part and every feature I have in my face. He then stopped at my eyes.

Umiwas ako ng tingin dahil hindi ko ata kakayanin ang intensidad na ipinaparating ng mga asul niyang mga mata. Napaawang ang labi ko nang hawakan nito ang baba ko at hinarap niya ang mukha ko sa kanya, hinuhuli ang mga mata ko.

"Do you know why they call me Rogue?" He asked with no emotion. Nothing but coldness.

I felt a slight sting in my heart. "W-why?"

"Because I'm a very dangerous man and mercy is not in my vocabulary, Woman. . ." He stared at my eyes. "Now do yourself a favor and be a good, good girl. . ."

He let go of me then he stormed out of the room. Bumagsak ang balikat ko at naupo na lamang sa kama niya. Napahilamos ang kamay ko sa aking mukha. What have you gotten yourself into, Marina?

"Hi!" sabi ng maliit na boses.

Napatili ako at nahulog sa kama dahil sa gulat.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you."

A little mermaid approached me and help me stand up. She too, has shimmering gold tails. Napaka ganda niya! She has gold blonde hair and her skin is pale as white.

Ngumiti ako saka umiling. "No, it's okay. What's your name, little girl?" tanong ko dito.

She smiled. "My name is Cyan and I'm ten years old! You're Ate Marina, right?" tanong nito. Her voice sounded so excited.

I smiled and caressed her golden hair. "Yes. How did you know?"

She smiled shyly and slightly bowed her head. "I'm sorry, I read your thoughts earlier." She explained.

Natawa ako. "Okay lang. Are you Rogue's little sister?"

Tumango ito. "Anyway, this is your first time here, right? Do you want me to show you around?" tanong niya.

I almost nodded but then I remembered what Rogue said. Ngumuso ako saka umiling. Ang maliit na mukha ni Cyan ay biglang naging malungkot.

Ngumuso ito. "Please? Ate Marina? I want to play with you."

Napa buntong hininga na lamang ako saka tumango. "Alright, alright."

She screamed in excitement and clapped. Rogue won't be angry right? Besides, it's his sister I'm with. And I won't be going out of this castle so there is nothing to be mad of.

Cyan held my hand and pulled me outside. We swam on the right wing of the castle. I can't help but to admire the interior. Everything is gold and silver. Very classy and elegant.

"Are you a princess?" tanong ko kay Cyan.

She nodded. "I'm the first princess of Atlantis, Ate Marina. The second princess is Shimmer, she's from the Chalcedon kingdom and her attitude stinks! She has a huge crush on my older brother, Kuya Dark but Kuya Dark does not give a damn about her!"

My eyes widened when she said the word damn. This girl takes after his brother, Rogue. Maybe it runs in their family.

"Anyway, the third princess is Serenity, she's from the Dawn kingdom. I will introduce you to her some other time, just like her name, she's very kind, poised and elegant! She's the total opposite of my older brother, Kuya Dark, but I actually like them to end up together!" She stopped in the coral garden and sat on the big shell. Umupo ako sa tabi nito.

"And the fourth princess is Rose from the Genesis kingdom. No one has actually saw princess Rose but there was a rumor that she's a badass princess! She's the fiancé of my brother Blood but she runaway, so..." nagkibit balikat ito. "She actually has two brothers! Spade, and Ice..." napansin ko ang pagningning ng mga mata nito nang banggitin niya ang pangalang Spade.

I looked at her confused. "Ilang lalaking kapatid ang mayroon ka?" tanong ko dito.

She smiled. "Oh, I have four brothers, Kuya Rogue, Kuya Dark, Kuya Blood and Kuya Ash."

Kumunot ang noo ko. "Ganoon ba talaga ang mga pangalan nila?"

Cyan pouted. "That's just what Mereos call them, Ate Marina. And my brothers have long forgotten their names, well not literally forgotten but they don't want to be called by their names. . ." She sadly said.

"Mereos calls Rogue, Rogue because he's dangerous and he shows no mercy, when one made a mistake, he will punish them without giving them any second chances. No matter how light or heavy the sin is. . ."

Why? I always thought that everybody deserves a second chance.

". . . Dark because, you won't see Dark in the middle of the day, he only goes out at night in the rays of the moonlight and no one has actually heard his voice. Well except for us, his family of course. . . "

Now that's weird. Why? Is he scared of the sun?

". . . Blood, because Blood will slay a Mereo anytime, anywhere as long as the Mereo is at fault, he won't think of the circumstances... Blood always shed when he's around. . ."

She sighed. "And Ash, I think that Ash is the scariest among my brothers, because he will burn a Mereo alive and will wait till you turn into ashes if he caught you doing something unforgivable. . ."

Napa awang ang labi ko sa gulat. Wow, her brothers are total freaks. No wonder Mereos are scared of them. Sa tingin ko ay si Dark ang pinaka maayos sa kanilang apat.

"Ikaw lang ang nagiisang babae?" tanong ko.

Tumango ito. "That's why I was so happy when I saw you and my older brother Rogue earlier entering the castle! Because finally, I will have a sister, or a girl friend!" Her eyes became sad even though she's smiling. "Because, you know Marina, even though, I'm powerful and I'm a princess, no mermaid or merman wants to be friends with me because they're scared of my brothers."

Tinapik ko ang braso nito saka marahang hinaplos. "Don't worry, starting from now on, I'll be your big sister, okay?" sabi ko at ngumiti.

She suddenly hugged me. I laughed. "Thank you, Ate Marina!" niyakap ko ito pabalik.

"Atsaka, hindi ka ba nagsasalita ng tagalog?" tanong ko dito.

Ngumiti ito sa akin saka nag peace sign. "I can't actually speak it but I can understand, Ate..."

Sabi nito at nagtawanan kame.
