Chapter Eighty six ~ The Initiation
Kira’s POV ***************
Deisha gasped in disbelief as she held on to the small cut, her blood seeping out. She stifled the urge to scream for some reason best known to her. Maybe it is backed up by her determination not to seem weak to me.
“ Does it hurt?!” Marilyn asked, coming closer. Deisha took one step backwards. Her eyes darted to me, with a hope of me helping her.
“ No! No it doesn’t,” Deisha said, blinking back at the tears threatening to drop.
“ One lie we tell ourselves just because of the urge for power. We tell ourselves that it doesn’t hurt, and we don’t feel the deep cut of our actions while we are left to deal with its scars for the rest of our lives.” Marilyn leaned in, her eyes feasting on Deisha.
