Chapter Thirty four ~ The meeting

The hall was packed, the heavy wooden table stretching across the center of the stone chamber. Dim light flickered in iron sconces along the walls, casting shadows over the weathered faces of the five clan elders seated before me. All of them were old, powerful, and used to being heard. But tonight, none of their voices mattered more than mine.
I have waited so long for this moment. I have even dreamed of it for so long and even practiced my speech a zillion times before the mirror. The day I would look at the elders of the wolf clan governing other clans and tell them how I want this kingdom to be ruled.
Sanghiel has always fueled my dream and passion. But now, I am doing this alone and it feels way better.
