SECOND WAR

Anabel and Lella decided to keep an eye on Mark and also find the cause of Lisa’s sickness and how to cure it. Anabel spent more time in the palace and questioned her father about the secret guard, Mark. Lella stayed with her mother unlike before learning about drugs and some medications; she also practised her skills with her mother’s patients. After each day’s practice and learning, Anabel and Lella came together to discuss their plan and the success so far. “How was your meeting with the prince today?” Lella asked Anabel. “It was okay, though the prince knew less about Mark’s assignment in the palace. That’s not even the issue; he said he’s going to be crowned in the next full moon, and he wants Lisa to be there,” Anabel crossed her legs to explain. “Seriously! That means he has affection towards Lisa, wait, did you tell him that Lisa is sick?” Lella questioned curiously and happily. She was happy that at last, she was going to be a friend to the queen one day. “How would I? Don’t you know the prince is already in love with Lisa? If I’ve told him Lisa was sick, he would find his way to her house, and you know what that means,” Anabel explained. “Yeah, that’s true, so we need to cure Lisa’s sickness before the next full moon; we have less than fifteen days to do that,” Lella explained to Anabel. “About that sickness, I’ve questioned my mother but she refused to tell me anything about it; she said such sickness doesn’t exist around here,” Lella explained further. “I tried asking my father about the sickness too; he also told me such sickness doesn’t exist around here. But when he saw that I was so curious, he told me that it’s a curse that is usually placed on witches to cage their powers, but I was confused about the witch of a thing,” Anabel said, doubting his option. “Witch?” Lella exclaimed. “Does that mean that Lisa is a sorcerer?” she questioned anxiously. “We don’t know yet; we just have to find out,” Anabel suggested. Lella sighed. Anabel and Lella decided to ask Lisa about it. They went at their usual time, very late at night when Mark would have gone for his ‘hunt.’ They hopped in through Lisa’s window, “Hey, how are you doing?” Lella crawled to Lisa on her sick bed after falling from the window frame because of her short height. Lisa couldn’t talk; she could only move her head, she was in pain. Lella and Anabel looked at Lisa pitifully; they wished they could help her as soon as possible. “Can you speak to us?” Anabel asked Lisa; she nodded her head slowly, trying to say “yes.” “Are you a sorcerer?” Anabel and Lella chorused the question. Lisa stared at them in surprise; she wondered how they knew that. She kept away the gaze, trying to avoid further questioning. “Talk to us; we’re your friends, and we promise everything you tell us privately,” Lella declared their faithfulness. Lisa pulled herself together; she tried to lift her head, and Anabel quickly grabbed her hands to assist her. “I’m sorry for not telling you this before you found out,” Lisa confessed, she told them everything right from the time of the war, when she lost her mother, and how Mark had been good to her. Her friends were happy that she told them the truth. “So you can teleport? Can you bring fire from your hand? Can you run very fast? Can you see a vision?” Lella was anxious and wanted to know more about Lisa. “I don’t know if I can, but I’ve been able to do anything I wished I could do,” Lisa explained. “Okay, can you just wish to be fine?” Anabel asked. “No, I’ve been trying to use my powers lately, but nothing is happening, I believe it’s because of my sickness,” Lisa said with pity written all over her face. “I wish I could just go back to my normal self, I’ve missed you guys, it’s always silent and boring in here,” she added with tears forming in her eyes. “Don’t worry, my friend; we will find a cure for it very soon,” Lella said while embracing Lisa. “We promise; we’ll very soon,” Anabel added with pity forming on her face. The next day, Anabel and Lella decided to ask their parents about sorcerers. “Mum, is it true that witches also live like us?” Lella asked her mother while giving her hands in her small native hospital. Lella’s mother, Vanessa, was so surprised and wanted to know why her daughter was asking such a question. “Sorcerer? Why are you asking about them?” Vanessa asked her daughter as she withdrew her hands from what she was doing to concentrate on the question. “Nothing much; I just read a book that talked about witches and it was written there that they still exist today,” Lella framed a different story. “Oh, yeah, they really exist, but not among us here, the king has prohibited their stay among normal people; he believed they are bad because they have powers we don’t possess here,” Vanessa explained. “So have you seen any of them before?” Lella asked. Vanessa looked left and right before she answered the question. “I heard that one of them is working as a secret guard for the king,” Vanessa whispered into Lella’s ear. “That must be Mark,” Lella said to herself. “Oh, there’s also this part of the book that dealt with the treatment of a curse that is usually brought on them to get them to weaken and cage their powers. Can you treat it, Mum?” Vanessa looked into her daughter’s eye and noticed she was lying. “What’s wrong? Who is the person?” Vanessa questioned Lella looking straight into her eyes. “Mum, it’s Lisa; she has been sick all this while. That’s why I’ve been staying down here to learn some medications. But later, I knew she is a witch, and a curse was placed on her,” Lella explained to her mother. Vanessa looked at Lella weirdly, “I would have loved to help her, but she needs a flower from a far-away hamlet,” Vanessa explained. Vanessa disclosed the location of the flowers and told Lella to bring them to her immediately after she found them. “Be careful,” Vanessa warned her. “Yes, Mum, I’ll be careful,” Lella replied as she rushed out of the house, already prepared for a full moon journey. Lella went directly to Anabel’s place to give her the whole information she got from her mother. They departed into the woods after stealing a map from the king’s palace. King Abel, the royal majesty of Avrot kingdom, received information that Lisa still lives and lives in Asguard. He couldn’t wait any longer and commanded a war of ten thousand men to strike Asguardians at night. He knew Asguardians were very strong, and attacking them at night would be the best idea. He decided to go with the warriors; he wanted to kill Lisa himself. “Run!!” Two lovers who were committing a******y in the woods were the first set of people to lose their heads. Everything started with a command from Abel himself. Then fire rained on everything, and humans and animals couldn’t find a safe place to hide their heads. Abel slit with hatred and despise on his mind. Asguardians were met unprepared and unaware; it was almost too late to sound the alarm bell. Even Mark was met off guard; he had gone for his night chores only to return to meet everyone running and screaming, parents forgot about their kids and sought safety for themselves. Mark was in the woods when he heard the alarm bell, and when he turned back, the fire was already on the kingdom. He rode furiously first to the king’s palace; there was fire everywhere, before he reached, the king had fled to his inner chamber to seek safety. Mark led the king’s warriors; they fought with strength and with pain in their hearts, but they were outnumbered by the ten thousand men. Anabel and Lella returned to Asguard meeting war; they protected themselves till they reached Lisa’s place. She was almost burnt in the fire; they quickly carried her and headed straight to Vanessa’s clinic, but it was already on fire, Vanessa was so terrified when they met her. She couldn’t save her expensive medications; she was still packing some of them when they reached her. “Mum, we found it,” Lella said as she ran to hug her mother; they were both terrified. Anabel was holding reckless Lisa. “Lella, I’m sorry; this is not the best time for this, we have to leave this kingdom now,” Vanessa rubbed Lella’s face with tears forming in her eyes to seek her forgiveness. “Please, we need to save her; she’s going to help us stop the war,” Anabel explained. Vanessa faced Anabel, “did you know that this kingdom was under attack because of her?” Anabel said angrily. “That’s why we need to cure her; she’s the cause of the war, and she’s going to be the one to put an end to it,” Anabel explained. “If we flee into the wilderness, who’s going to save our heritage, our culture, or are you a coward as they've said?” Lella added. Vanessa later agreed to treat Lisa. The treatment only took minutes, and Lisa was back, but not to normal. Immediately she woke up from sleep, her eyes glowed golden yellow like a wild animal; she was young, but there were black tinges below her eyelids. She was suspended in the air and moved up slowly towards the roof. Vanessa, Anabel, and Lella stood in awe as they watched Lisa break through the roof to the sky. Lisa appeared in the sky like a falling star; she was surrounded by an electric field, fire-like molten magma dripping off her hands and feet. Abel and every other person could see her appearing gloriously. Abel was at first scared, but he later developed courage and rode his horse towards her; his men rode with him too. Lisa, out of annoyance, stretched forth her hands towards King Abel and his men. They all burned in magma. Mark and the king were killed in the inner chamber, but the crown prince escaped because he was hiding in the chamber. Everything was over; Lisa, Vanessa, Anabel, Lella, the prince, and some other civilians were the survivors of the war. The prince was crowned king, and Lisa agreed to be his queen. They ruled in peace and harmony. “Destiny cannot be stopped; it can only be delayed.”
