HIS HOUSE

He had completely forgotten that his boss brought in a new woman last night even though he saw them come in drunk.

Thomas quickly rushed upstairs, fear written all over him.

"Thomas, why did you allow her in knowing fully well I’m busy?"

"I’m sorry sir, I have forgotten completely. Please pardon me sir."

Alex turned to Sydney and asked her to leave, or he would ask the security to bundle her out.

She hissed and said, “I’m already on my way”.

The truth is, she was just acting strong,, but the pain in her heart was consuming her silently.

“I’m so sorry you have to experience that, she was my fiancé, but I broke up with her. She’s desperate to make it work between us but that can never happen.” He said, turning to Linda. At this point, she had covered herself properly when she saw Alex calling everyone upstairs.

Why is he telling me this? He should get his s**t together. It’s not my business, I just met him last night, and all I want from him is a good time.

“ It’s not a problem, its fine, she said simply”. She stood up to have her bath and get going. Alex joined her in the bathroom and they had their bath together. They dressed up and Alex gave her some of his clothes to change into. But she declined and said, “No, thanks, I’ll wear mine.”

You don’t want to wear my clothes? He said, smiling, yours must be dirty since you wore it yesterday, let’s give it to Rose to dry-clean it for you.

She wore his clothes and they both went downstairs for breakfast. Leaning over his food, surrounding her with his alpine scent. His good-looking face was only inches away.

“Why are you not eating? The food will get cold while you are staring at me? I know you want more of me.” he gave her a wicked smile.

She smiled back at his joke and ate her food quietly. He had caught her staring at him as she was admiring his cute face. Her mind drifted away as she observed the whole dining room. He seemed to have a thing for artworks as they were spread all over the walls of his dining room. She scanned them one after the other while marveling at the aesthetic value they brought to the house.

“Would you like to spend this Saturday with me?” He suddenly cut her off from her thoughts. “I mean, if it’s not going to disrupt your schedule for the weekend.”

“Uhm, it’s fine, I can stay, if that’s what you want.’’

“Alright then, but I need to quickly go for a meeting with some executives. Would you mind waiting for me? I’ll be back in an hour or two. And also there’s going to be a welcome-back party for my friend Jack. He had just arrived from Japan after spending seven years there.”

Jack, his childhood friend, had been working with an engineering company in Japan. The contract he signed lasted for seven years, and he had decided not to renew his contract with the company and traveled back to his home country.

Alex and his other friends had planned a welcome-back party for him at his house, and it would be holding that same Saturday evening. He had planned to go alone, but now that he had company, they would go together.

Alex quickly finished his food and headed to the car park. He had instructed the maids to take care of his visitor and make her comfortable.

She chatted with her friend. “I’ll be staying at Alex’s place today. I’ll give you the full gist when I get back”.

“Alright! Have fun.”

She ended the chat with Jasmine and then decided to use the opportunity to look around the house.

Inside the house is lavishly furnished with designer furniture, plush carpets and intricate décor. Fine art pieces, sculptures and antique furnishing. The rooms were spacious and meticulously decorated, each serving its purpose with a blend of comfort and style.

The rooms were not locked, hence she has free access.

He didn’t put her in any of the available rooms when he took her in drunk the previous night, he had taken her straight to his room. Now that she’s spending the weekend and doing nothing at the moment, she decided to stroll and take a look around the house.

She went further to check the other parts of the house. There was a passage from the living room that led to the entertainment areas. She opened the door, and she was astonished at the sight of the beauty of the house. There was a mini home theater that could contain a maximum of twenty people with a large screen erected on the wall. Just beside the mini home theater was a game room thatcontains all manners of games.

You can’t be bored in this house.

The kitchen is modern and equipped with high-end appliances. The bedrooms are retreats of comfort and luxury, with large beds adorned with premium linens and fabrics. All the bathrooms in the house have a Jacuzzi. His house reflects not just wealth but taste, comfort and a lifestyle of luxury.

The house is large and grand with sprawling grounds, manicured gardens. The exterior features marble, granite and high - quality wood, complemented by architectural details that highlight its elegance. There’s a gym, a swimming pool, and a garage housing luxury vehicles. It’s a smart home technology integrated for convenience and security.

Exactly two hours later, Alex returned from his meeting with a shopping bag. He had branched one of the clothing outlets on his way home, and he had picked up a really stylish dress for Linda with a matching necklace and a pair of two inch heals shoe, so she could wear it for the welcome-back party they had organized for his friend Jack.

He quickly went upstairs to his room to see her. But she wasn’t there. He then freshened up and went to the living room to search for her. He still couldn't find her. At this point, he became worried. Where could she be? As she left to her house?

He approached one of the maids and asked about her.

“I saw her going towards the home theater earlier. She could be there.” Rose, one of the maids replied.

He found her sitting on the couch watching a random movie. He sighed a sigh of relief when he saw her.

“Hey pretty! I thought you left already, I’ve been searching all over for you.” He said, walking up to her.

“Oh! Really, I have been sitting here all day just waiting for you. How was the meeting? I hope it went well?” she asked.

“Yeah… it did, thanks.” He replied, handing over the shopping bag he brought. “Take! This is for you. Get ready, so we won’t be late for the party.”

“Thanks”.

She quickly went upstairs to his room to freshen up. She needed to get ready and look her best. After bathing, she styled her hair into a ponytail and did a simple make-up. She smiled at herself in satisfaction when she looked in the mirror. The dress Alex bought for her fits perfectly, revealing her gorgeous shape. Alex wore a pair of fitted chinos with a navy blue casual button-down shirt paired with stylish boots. He complimented it with a bracelet and wristwatch on each wrist with a small gold necklace. He was looking so hot when he was done dressing, he had not dressed when he went around looking for her. He had only his bath and wore a casual outfit to look for her. When he handed her the outfits he bought for her, he then proceeded to change his clothes.

When Linda finished, she went downstairs to meet Alex. Her dress was a sight to behold. It draped delicately in soft flowing fabric that shimmered under the light, creating an ethereal effect as she moved. The dress was adorned with intricate lace patterns that added a touch of sophistication and charm. Though it’s a simple dress, it is beautiful. Its color, a deep shade of midnight blue, complemented her complexion perfectly, enhancing her natural beauty. The silhouette was made to accentuate her figure gracefully, with a subtler flare at the hem that added a bit of drama. He purposely picked the dress to match with his outfit.

Linda exuded confidence and elegance in her outfit, she would definitely make an impression when she got to the party.

Alex stared at her for a while as though he wasn’t the one that bought the dress for her.

“You look so… so hmmm, I’m at a loss for words. You look ravishingly beautiful” he said finally.

She smiled and replied, “Thank you! Thanks for these amazing outfits, I love them absolutely.”

I’m glad you did. He took her hands in his, and together they made their way to the front door.

They arrived at the venue right about time, and he started introducing her to some of his friends and some high-profile business associates who also came with their spouses. James, one of his friends, was surprised to see a new lady with him, but he kept his suspicions to himself. They all look elegant in their outfits. He hugged some of his old friends he had not seen in a while. They were all happy to see each other as it was like a reunion. Some of them haven’t seen themselves in years.

“I can’t help it, almost everyone is looking at us” she said through clenched teeth.

“They are not looking at us, they are looking at you. You look so amazing in this outfit. I think I did an amazing job picking this outfit for you”. He said, looking at her from head to toe.

She replied him with a smile. “You sure did, thanks again.”

“Don’t mention my princess, it’s my absolute pleasure”. He said while patting her hand slightly.

He then led her to a comfortable position where they both sat while they observed different people chatting. He signaled the waiter and took two glasses of champagne. He gave one to her and sipped the other one.
