Zoe POV:
Hours later we arrive at the hotel in Colorado. It’s up on a damn mountain that had me nervous as hell imaging the uber accidentally driving off the cliff. Once we got out of the car, I was thanking the universe for not letting us down.
“f*****g finally. I’m trying to get my ass in a bed asap,” Jax says as he walks past us towards the lobby to check us in.
I also walk into the lobby to ask the other receptionist where I will be staying.
“Well Zoe, you have your pick. You can choose the room by the elevator or the room by the storage room.”
As I think about it Steel looks at the man dumbfounded.
“You’re putting her in an economy room, while the rest of us have a whole floor to ourselves?”
The receptionist shrugs.
“Not me, Mr. Peter Holseve, your manager.”
Steel sighs looking at me thoughtfully.
“She’s staying with us.”
“No, it’s okay. I’m used to it.” I tell Steel and he flicks his blond hair back and squints his silver-looking eyes at me. That’s how he got his nickname, Steel.
“You’re going to say no to one of the best suites in Colorado?”
I bite my lip thoughtfully.
“Well... okay, only if it’s okay with the others. I don’t want to intrude.”
“It’s not a problem.”
Steel is so nice to me. If he weren’t gay I would think he has a crush on me, but in reality, he is just a compassionate people person, and his fans love him for that.
“Thank you.” He nods and we make our way to the suite.
In the suite, all the guys were already drinking, smoking, texting, listening to Metallica while engaging in easy-going conversations. The suite looks very cozy with its log cabin style and open concept.
Storm leans against the wall looking like a sinful temptation with his confidence, and that bad boy vibe to him.
He meets my eyes amused and I look away, embarrassed that he saw me staring. s**t. I have to stay focused while I’m here in Colorado. That means no flirting with the handsome devil. Even if his hypothetical horns look tempting enough to pull.
“Hey, Curls. What are you doing here?” Storm asks as he casually pushes away from the wall and stalks towards me.
“I told her she could stay here. Her room is not as good as ours.” Steel says shooting Storm a look, not to push it. But then storm looks at him and shakes his head.
“That’s a bad idea, Steel.” Storm says while pulling out a blunt from behind his ear and lighting it.
“Why’s that, dare I ask?” I ask Storm who looks at me then back to Steel and gives him a knowing look.
“Behave.” Steel tells Storm who chuckles before Steel walks into one of the many rooms in the suite to unpack. I don’t need to unpack much since I only brought a backpack with me.
I wonder what Steel meant by ’behave.’
“Did you choose a room yet? I suggest you do before the rest of the guys get the best ones.” Storm says as he points to a bedroom on the opposite side of the living room.
“I called dibs on the master bedroom. The one next to it is almost as nice, and no one has called it yet.” He says suggestively before heading towards the guys and jumping in on their conversation.
I make my way to the bedroom next to his and when I open the door my mouth drops.
“This room has a hot tub?!” I say excitedly, and I hear the guy’s conversation stop to look my way.
“What? I didn’t know...” Grayson starts to say but I cut him off.
“I call it!” I say before anyone else can and Storm nods in my direction.
“All yours, Curls.” He says with a small smile, and the guys start to protest, which he ignores as he winks at me and Holy s**t, a wink like that can drop panties instantly. But not mine of course... mine are staying the hell on. I hope.
I bite my lip a little as I try to hide my blush and walk into the room closing the door behind me.
This bedroom has its own bathroom, jacuzzi, mini-fridge, a massive tv, and a big window showing off the beautiful landscape of Colorado. I can definitely get used to this. I pull out my computer from my backpack and set up the wifi.
I look through my emails and realize that many of the drummers I contacted to tell them I want them to audition have written me back with excited emails and ‘hell yeahs’.
So far I’ve narrowed down 4 amazing drummers that I will have to fly here to Colorado for the audition. This hotel has a studio just under it in the basement. It’s equipped with all kinds of instruments, soundproof rooms, and expensive tech.
After replying to the emails I shut off the computer and jump onto my massive king-sized bed. I don’t think I’ve ever been on a bed this big and I can see the appeal as I roll around on it bunching up the ultra-soft quilt and sighing in bliss.
As I lay down I pull out my phone to take a selfie and send it to mom to let her know I leaned safely. She sends me a picture of her with an avocado face mask at the spa and a peace sign. Then she sends me a picture of dad in the spa bed next to her with the same face mask and I gasp and I quickly type a message.
Zoe: [Holy crap mom! You’re on a date with dad? How did you manage to make him go with you?]
Mom: [I didn’t. He came home last night and apologized for being gone for a month again. Then he suggested taking me out on a date today.]
Zoe: [That’s awesome mom, how do you feel about that?]
Mom: [I don’t want to get my hopes up sweetheart, or yours, but as of now I’m happy. How’s it going with the band?]
Zoe: [These guys are way cooler in person. I get along with them just fine, and Storm well he’s um, a Storm.]
Mom: [A good storm or a bad storm? XD]
Zoe: [Haven’t decided yet. ;)]
Mom: [Well, I’ll have to let you go now Zoe, we’re getting massages done now.]
Zoe: [Okay, love you, mom.]
Mom: [Love you too dear :) ]
I have a feeling the next couple of days are going to be very eventful, maybe even life-changing. I’ve never had a job this good, or even traveled much, which I will be doing from here on out.
