Storm POV:
I wake up the next day expecting to get a hangover then I remember I was smoking weed not drinking, and I was pleasantly up and about, making breakfast for the band and Zoe.
As I walk out of the kitchen I notice Zoe was sitting in the living room and hasn’t noticed I walked out.
“Come find me... I want your soul to haunt me.
I want you to get angry, and tell me all the names who did you wrong.
Possess me... Go on and use my body.
I want you to, flow through me. Use the power that emanates through my song.”
She sings while tapping on her thighs.
“Wow,” I say completely floored by those lyrics. She gasps and jumps in surprise.
“Oops, no one was supposed to hear that yet.”
“Are you writing a personal song there Zoe?”
“Oh, um... maybe?” She says slightly embarrassed.
“I love it, I didn’t know you could sing.” She shakes her head.
“Nah, I don’t like singing much, I prefer making beats and writing lyrics.”
“Well, can I hear some more?” I ask her and she grabs her notebook and shuts it.
“Actually, I should probably do my laundry, before it continues to pile up.”
Why is she suddenly so shy again? I thought we were past that. Zoe is freaking talented, I wish she saw herself the way I saw her.
She heads to her bedroom and I frown, before getting my arm smacked.
“Why the long face?” Steel asks and on impulse, I quickly get up and follow Zoe to her bedroom. I knock and hear a faint, “Yes?”
“Can I come in please?” I ask her and then I hear her unlock the door, and open it.
“What for, dare I ask?” I take her hand and pull her towards the keyboard that is set up in the living room. I sit down and she looks at me confused.
“Sing that again,” I tell her as I play a piano progression I’ve been working on for months. She smiles a little while blushing.
“When do you want me to start singing?”
“Whenever it feels right,” I tell her as my fingers slide across the piano smoothly, then I hear her beautiful soft voice sing the lyrics and it’s f*****g orgasmic.
“Come find me... I want your soul to haunt me.
I want you to get angry, and tell me all the names who did you wrong.
Possess me... Go on and use my body.
I want you to flow through me. Use the power that emanates through my song.”
As she sings the song the guys emerge from their rooms to watch us with wide eyes and mouths hanging open.
“That’s uh... that all I wrote.” She says and the guys start clapping.
“Holy s**t! That was amazing.” Grayson said as he walks towards us with a bong in his hands, already waking and baking before breakfast.
“Are you trying to replace all of us, Zoe?” He jokes and Zoe shakes her head.
“No way. I’d actually love to hear Storm sing this.” She says as she hands me her notebook and I smile as I take it.
“I’m honored to,” I tell her and she almost looks like a gushing fangirl. Cute.
“I’ll try to top that,” I say as I put the notebook on the book stand and begin to play an intro on the piano and sing the lyrics the way that would best suit my raspy voice.
The house goes quiet as I sing, and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. As I’m singing the lyrics hits a certain part of my soul and it feels right. Once I’m finished I look around and see everyone floored.
“Good?” I ask and they all nod slowly.
“Incredible,” Steel says shaking his head, and I turn back to Zoe.
“If you finish writing that song would you consider selling it to us?” I ask her and she laughs.
“No, I wouldn’t... I’d beg you to take it.” She admits and the guys sound ecstatic.
“Thank you, Curls. Would you sing a portion of the song?” I ask and she bites her lip thoughtfully.
“I can’t sing and play drums at the same time.” She says and my eyes go wide.
“Excuse me?” I say surprised and she covers her mouth with her hands as if she didn’t mean for that to slip.
“Did you just admit to wanting to be our drummer Zoe?” I ask as I stand and face her.
“Um... well...” she sighs as she looks at everyone in the band.
“If we can’t find you the drummer you’re looking for then I’ll volunteer as tribute.” Everyone goes wild in the house and I’m shocked into silence.
“Steel?” I call him over while keeping my gaze on Zoe.
“Did Zoe give you the numbers of the drummers?”
“Yeah, why?” He asks looking between Zoe and me.
“Delete them. We’ve found ourselves our new drummer.” I tell him and the guys pick up Zoe over their shoulders. She yelps in surprise, as they have a victory dance.
Steel laughs deeply.
“Hey don’t damage our new drummer guys. her hands are priceless.” I tell them before heading back to the kitchen to serve breakfast. My guys would starve if it weren’t for me.
After eating breakfast at the table with everyone, I get a text from Pete. I can already imagine it’s because of the i********: post I put up last night.
Pete: [Hey Storm, just wanted to let you know I’ve landed in Colorado Springs and I’ll be at the hotel shortly. We’ve got a lot to talk about.]
Storm: [If this is about the post last night, I’m not going to delete it.]
Pete: [I don’t give a f**k about that post, this is much more important.]
Storm: [Fine. Oh and by the way, your room isn’t in the suite.]
Pete: [And why the f**k not?]
Storm: [Because Zoe is staying in the suite with us.]
Pete: [So you just let her take my room? I’m kicking her out of there once I get there.]
Storm: [Try it and you’ll regret it, Pete.]
“What’s with the angry typing?” Grayson asks and I sigh.
“Pete is on his way over. Which means the fun is over.” I say as I stand up and throw away my paper plate.
