Brandon is born into the family of intellectuals; geniuses. In this family, being a prodigy is not only expected, it is the norm. This family of intellectuals have a reputation which makes averagely intelligent people seem like aliens to them.

Brandon is named after his grandfather, the physicist; he won the Nobel prize for physics, twice. For Brandon, that's the mark to beat.

Anyway, that shouldn't be a problem for Brandon, who is mysteriously born with a headstart in knowledge.
