Ava Parker had never been more nervous in her life. As she stood in front of the sleek, glass doors of Smith Wine Company, her heart raced with anticipation. The sun, casting a warm golden glow over the building, seemed to reflect her hopes and dreams. She couldn't believe that her long-desired dream would soon become a reality or just a mere wish. With a deep breath to steady her nerves, She pushed open the door and entered the pristine lobby. It was adorned with polished marble floors and tasteful artwork that whispered sophistication. At the front desk sat a poised and professional-looking secretary, her dark hair neatly coiled in a bun. Walking up to the lady. "Can I help you?" the secretary inquired with a friendly smile. She took a moment to compose herself before responding. "I'm Ava Parker, and I have an appointment with Mr. Williams." The secretary's eyes widened with recognition. "Oh, yes, Mr. Williams is expecting you. Please have a seat, and I'll inform him of your arrival." "Thank you" She replied. Scanning through the office she could see how beautiful the designs were and she could only imagine how expensive the decorations were. Ava took a seat in one of the plush leather chairs. Her fingers were tightly intertwined, her nervousness betraying her. Moments later, the secretary returned. "Mr. Williams will see you now, Miss Parker," she said, rising from her desk and guiding Ava to a pair of elegant double doors. Ava's heart raced as the secretary knocked on the door and announced her presence. The door opened, revealing a spacious and luxurious office. At the desk sat a man who appeared to be in his late thirties, impeccably dressed in a tailored charcoal-gray suit. "Ah, Miss Parker," he greeted her with a warm smile. "Please, have a seat." Ava couldn't help but be captivated by the striking presence of Mr. Williams. His office, adorned with mahogany furniture and wine-related artwork, exuded an air of affluence. It seems working in a big company as this has its privileges and benefits she thought to herself. Today could be her lucky day if fate did smile on her that is. "Do take a seat," he said to her. As she took a seat, Ava began her carefully rehearsing what she had spent the night coming up with. "Thank you for seeing me, Mr. Williams. I've always admired the work of Smith Wine Company, and I believe my background in marketing and my passion for wine could be an asset to your team. And just that, I'm so passionate when it comes to my work and I believe I will be a valuable asset to the company, sir." She finished. Mr. Williams steepled his fingers and leaned back in his leather chair, studying Ava intently. "Your CV is certainly impressive, Miss Parker. Tell me, what motivates you to work in the wine industry?" Ava's eyes sparkled with genuine enthusiasm as she spoke. "Wine is more than just a beverage; it's an art form. I believe in the power of storytelling through wine, and I want to be a part of the team that brings the Smith Wine Company brand to the world." Mr. Williams nodded, clearly satisfied. "And what do you think you can bring to our company that sets you apart from other applicants out there?" Ava leaned forward, her eyes locked on his. "I believe my creativity, my passion for wine, and my dedication to crafting unique marketing strategies can help Smith Wine Company reach new heights." A moment of silence hung in the air as Mr. Williams continued to assess Ava. Finally, he leaned forward, his eyes fixed on hers. "Miss Parker, I appreciate your enthusiasm and qualifications. We take great pride in our company, and we're always looking for individuals who share our vision. I believe we can offer you a position on our marketing team." A wave of joy and relief washed over Ava as she accepted the offer with gratitude. She couldn't help but feel that this was not just a job but a new beginning in more ways than one. Finally, she will make her mother proud, she and her mother have suffered and have gone through many setbacks. She knows with this new job, she will be able to do what she has silently swore to herself and that is helping her mother out of suffering. Ava couldn't believe her luck. Joining the marketing team at Smith Wine Company was a dream come true. She had spent her first week immersing herself in the company's rich history and learning about the intricacies of the wine industry. Her colleagues were friendly and eager to help her adjust to her new role. ____ Ava had just stepped into the hallowed halls of the Smith Wine Company. She was about to embark on an orientation with a senior worker, Sarah, who had been with the company for over a decade. "Good morning, Ava!" Sarah's cheerful voice pulled Ava's attention away from the beautiful wooden beams and vintage wine barrels that adorned the entrance. "I heard you're the newest member of our team. Welcome to Smith Wine Company!" Ava extended her hand with a friendly smile, "Thank you, Sarah. I'm thrilled to be here." Sarah shook Ava's hand warmly and motioned towards a cozy sitting area nearby. "Let's have a seat, and we can get started with your orientation. First things first, would you like a cup of our delicious coffee or perhaps a glass of water?" Ava opted for a cup of coffee to combat her early morning jitters. As Sarah placed a steaming mug in front of her, Ava couldn't help but admire the company's attention to detail, even in the smallest of things. "Now," Sarah began, taking a sip from her coffee, "Let me give you a brief overview of Smith Wine Company. We're a family-owned business with a rich history spanning over fifty years. Our vineyards, located in the heart of Napa Valley, are renowned for producing some of the finest wines in the region." Ava listened attentively, nodding in acknowledgment. "I've heard about the company's reputation for high-quality wines. It's impressive." Sarah continued, "You'll be working in the marketing department, and that's where I come in. I've been with Smith Wine Company for 11 years, and I'm currently the Senior Marketing Manager. I'll be your mentor and guide as you settle in." Ava's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "I'm excited to work with you and learn from your experience." "That's great to hear," Sarah replied with a warm smile. "In our marketing department, we focus on promoting our brand, organizing events, and managing our social media presence. We believe that a strong online presence is vital in today's market." Ava leaned forward, her interest up. "I've had experience in digital marketing and social media management in my previous roles. I'm eager to contribute to our online strategies." Sarah nodded appreciatively. "Your skills will be valuable here. We encourage creativity and innovation in our marketing efforts. Feel free to bring your ideas to the table. We believe in collaboration and welcome fresh perspectives." Ava felt reassured, knowing her ideas would be valued. "I'll keep that in mind. It's good to know that creativity is encouraged." As the conversation flowed, Sarah spoke about the company's policies. "We prioritize work-life balance and offer flexible working hours. Our office dress code is relaxed, but professionalism is still important. We believe in a comfortable and productive work environment."
