We're like a big wine-loving family." Ava couldn't help but smile at the camaraderie evident in Sarah's words. "I'm thrilled to work with such a welcoming team." After the orientation, Sarah assured Ava, "Your first day can be overwhelming, and it's perfectly okay not to remember everything at once. We're here to help and support you as you settle into your new role." Ava felt a sense of belonging and purpose as she concluded her orientation. "Thank you for the warm welcome and insightful guidance. I can't wait to start this exciting journey." Sarah stood up with a smile. "Welcome to Smith Wine Company, Ava. I'm looking forward to seeing your talents and ideas shine." As they both made their way out of the lobby, Ava couldn't help but feel that she had joined not just a company but a passionate and supportive family. She was ready to embark on her journey, filled with enthusiasm and the promise of growth at the Smith Wine Company. As the weeks went by Ava was getting accustomed to the daily routines, and one name kept coming up "Daniel Smith," the son of the company's founder, Mr. Peter Smith. The stories about him painted a complex picture. He was known to be both a brilliant mind when it came to the business and a notorious playboy. His name often surfaced in hushed conversations among the employees. But she paid no attention to it. She was fully focused on her work and making the best use of the opportunity given to her. One morning, as Ava was working diligently at her desk, she noticed a commotion in the hallway. Her heart quickened as she realized that the center of attention was none other than Daniel Smith. He was an arresting figure, tall with dark, wavy hair and piercing blue eyes. Dressed in an expensive suit, he exuded an air of confidence that drew everyone's gaze. There was no doubt who is the boss. Daniel's entrance into the office sent a wave of whispers through the employees. Ava observed as he made his way through the hallway, his charisma so evident. He seemed unfazed by the attention he garnered, heading straight for Mr. William's office. There were high rumors of his personality. A very unapologetic playboy and harsh boss. He doesn't care about the employees. As Ava tried to concentrate on her work, she overheard snippets of the conversation from the adjacent cubicles. Ethan was speaking to Mr. Williams, discussing the company's quarterly performance, but there was a tension in their voices that suggested more than just a business discussion. "Listen, Mr. Williams, we need to expand our business globally. I've been researching potential markets, and I've identified some exciting opportunities," Daniel urged, his voice determined. And you have to talk to my father about this!" Mr. Williams, seated behind his imposing desk, looked at his boss's son with a mixture of exasperation and concern. "Daniel, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but we need to proceed with caution. We don't want to overextend ourselves." Ava couldn't see their faces, but she could hear the frustration in Daniel's voice. "Mr. Williams, you're too conservative. Smith Wine Company has so much potential. We can't let it stagnate. You have to convince my father to take the right action". Their conversation reached a deadlock as Ava focused back on her work. It was clear that the dynamic between father and son was strained. And Daniel is seeking to get his father's attention via Mr Williams. As the minutes ticked by, the tension in the office seemed to dissipate, and Daniel exited Mr. Williams's office with an air of frustration. It wasn't long before Daniel's reputation as the company's enigmatic playboy became evident. He was often seen with beautiful women in his arms at social events, and rumors of his escapades filled the office chatter. Ava was having an earful of gossip as other employees gossiped and wished they were the ones with him. And she couldn't understand why they would wish that kind of thing. But then Ava couldn't help but be drawn to the mystery that was Daniel Smith. One day, as she was leaving work, Ava found herself in the elevator with Daniel. His mere presence oozed an aura of magnetism that made her heart race. They exchanged polite greetings, but Ava could sense a distance in his eyes. It was as if he was a world apart from the office and its employees. As the elevator doors opened, Daniel stepped out and turned to her with a curious glint in his eye. "You're Ava, right? The new marketing hire." Ava nodded, surprised that he knew her name. "Yes, I am. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Smith." He chuckled, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "No need for formalities. Call me Daniel. We'll be seeing a lot more of each other, I'm sure." ____ Daniel, the head of the marketing division, stormed into the office, his frustration simmering just below the surface. His eyes darted around the room until they fixed on a young employee, Jake, who was engrossed in his computer, seemingly oblivious to the mounting tension in the room. "Jake," Daniel barked, striding over to the young man's desk. "We need to talk. Now." Jake's head shot up, startled by his boss's sudden appearance. "What's up, Daniel?" Daniel's face flushed with anger as he leaned closer, his voice filled with frustration. "Do you even realize the consequences of your subpart performance, Jake? It's not just about time and money lost; it's impacting the entire team!" Confusion clouded Jake's expression as his eyebrows knitted together. "I'm sorry, Daniel, but I don't quite grasp your point. I've dedicated my efforts to the project just like everyone else." Daniel's exasperation reached its peak, and he couldn't help but release an almost growling remark. "Dedicating? That's precisely the issue! You've been procrastinating, disregarding deadlines, and your work quality? It barely meets minimum standards. Our clients are expressing dissatisfaction, which is detrimentally impacting our reputation." Jake reclined in his seat, striving to maintain composure. "I apologize if my work has not met your expectations, but I have been exerting maximum effort. Perhaps additional direction or resources could be beneficial..." Daniel interrupted him with a frustrated gesture. "Additional guidance? We are not here to babysit you, Jake! You are an independent professional entrusted with responsibilities. It's not an intricate task. We hired you based on our faith in your abilities, yet you have consistently disappointed us." Jake's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as he fired back, "I'm giving it my all given the limited resources and time at hand. It's not solely my struggle; the workload is simply too much for everyone. Perhaps we could benefit from additional team members." Daniel's demeanor took on a condescending air. "Ah, yes, Jake. Let's conveniently attribute it all to the workload, shall we? You're just making feeble excuses, and it's truly pitiful. The rest of the team is achieving tangible outcomes without resorting to your complaints."
