I awoke not to the light coming through the window, but to the sudden churning in my stomach. I dashed to the bathroom and barely made it before vomiting over and over. Jake must've heard me because he came in and held my hair out of my face. When I finished, he brought me my toothbrush and a glass of water. I brushed my teeth to get the nasty a** taste out of my mouth and barely finished before Jake scooped me up and carried me back to bed. He laid me beneath the covers and put a cool washcloth on my forehead. He made me wait a little bit for breakfast and had me nibble on some crackers to help settle my stomach. He canceled his plans for the day and stayed with me. We did put the day to use by finishing planning our marriage and declaring me Luna.
"When should the date be?" Jake asked me. I could see the love in his eyes as he rubbed my stomach.
"Probably as soon as possible. I am already beginning to show as I am only pregnant for a few months. I'm also carrying two instead of one." I pointed out. On top of the marriage and Luna ceremony, we also started planning the baby shower. We find out the genders in a couple of hours and we are so excited.
"So, what do you think we are having?" I ask him.
"With all of the kicking I endured last night? Girls." He answered with a laugh. I joined in the laughter. I was hoping for boys if I am being honest. We got our things together before heading over to the doctors. Right after our appointment,I will be going dress shopping and he will be checking out decorations and the flowers. We walked in silence on our way to the doctor’s office. It was clear that we were both nervous and excited, but couldn’t find the right words to talk.
Once we arrived, she had me lay on the table and lift up my shirt. She then squirted a gel onto my stomach and used the ultrasound device. After looking and double checking, she finally found the genders.
“Congratulations!! You are having one boy and one girl.” She told us with a smile. Silent tears started falling down my checks from the happiness I was feeling and when I looked over at Jake, I saw that he was crying as well.
