Kidnapping？！

Selene's POV

The look he was giving me was completely different than the one he had up until now. He looked strict and formal. We ate in silence, but as soon as we finished, he opened his mouth to speak.

“Selene, I am going to ask you this one time only. What are you?”

“Jake, I told you, I’m a simple wolf. You said I smelled different, but I don’t know what that means. Why would you ask me this?” I was confused. We went over this earlier, I’m just a normal wolf. Aren’t I?

No, you’re not. Ella says to me. She has been quiet up until now. Probably enjoying what happened an hour ago.

“Selene, earlier the door locked on its own. When we were making love, your eyes glowed violet, the plants next to us grew double in size and produced blooms bigger then I have ever seen. I hate to say it, but you are not normal.”

My eyes glowed purple? I thought back to when I was shifting and I remember the tree bursting on fire. Was that me? I felt tears start falling down my face

“Please believe me.” I said through tears. “I have no idea what is going on or what I am. I’ve never had this happen before.”

I realized there were two people I could ask who would know what is going on. Looking at the time, I realized it was at the end of the school day and I would be expected back.

“Listen, I know you have no reason to believe be, but beg you to trust me. I have to meet my parents, maybe they will have some answers as to what is going on.” I said as I was getting up. Jake also stood up and followed me out.

“I will go with you, I need to know what’s going on as well and I want to make sure you are safe.” He quickly added as I was about to disagree with him coming with.

Nodding, I followed him to his car, gave him the GPS coordinates to my parent's house, and we set on our way. It was a quiet 20-minute drive as we sat in silence. Jake didn’t look at me, but he held my hand. Every so often he would squeeze it, but not once did he meet my eye contact. Finally, we pulled up into my parent's driveway to find it covered with balloons and other birthday decorations including a sign that said, Happy Birthday Selene!.

“Today’s your birthday?” Jake asked in surprise. I nodded to him as I climbed out. I waited for him before continuing into the house. My parents met us at the door and embraced me as they wished me a happy birthday. Once they released me, they stepped back and realized that I had someone with me.

“Who’s this?” My mother asks.

“This is Jake.” I introduced him.

“Where’s Zach?” My father asked. I realized they knew nothing of what happened today.

“Well..Zach found his mate today and I found mine just after shifting.” They looked at each other with worry.

“How was it?” My mother asked timidly. By the way, she asked only confirming that she knew what was going on with me.

“That’s actually what we are here to talk about.” I started, but I never got to finish because the house started filling up with all my friends and classmates. Someone turned the music on and blasted it. I looked back at my parents and their eyes were filled with apologies. They walked away and started greeting guests.

Next to me, Jake pulled his hand away to grab his phone, which I didn’t hear because of how loud the music was. He held it up to his ear and answered. Whoever it was, it looked important. He held a finger off to me and walked into a different room.

I walked around to see my friends who wished me a happy birthday and continued to dance. I smiled because had it been a normal day like I had planned, I would be doing the same. I was just about to continue when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

I turned around to see that it was Zach. He beckoned for me to follow him. He walked to quieter areas before turning to me.

“Selene, about what you saw this afternoon-.” He started, but I held up my hand.

“No explanation needed Zach. You found your mate. I’m happy for you.” And for the first time that day, I realized I actually was. All the feelings I had for him vanished once I found my mate I realized.

“You don’t understand Selene. Once I pulled back from the kiss and saw you run off, I realized that I still wanted you, so I rejected her. I love you Selene and still want to be with you. Even if we aren’t mates.” I was shocked! He rejected his mate for me not knowing what would happen.

“Zach, I’m sorry, I found my mate too and I want to be with him.” I told him shaking my head. “I feel bad, I really do Zach, but I belong with my mate and that’s who I will stay with.” I hated breaking his heart, but I just didn’t feel the same anymore. I watched his heart shatter in his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by anger.

“NO! Not after I gave up my mate for you! Not after I spent years of my life with you! You will break it off with him and you WILL stay with me!” He yelled grabbing my arms tightly and shaking me.

“Ow! Zach, let go! You’re hurting me!” I exclaimed. He was squeezing so hard that it felt like he was breaking my arms.

“Say that you will leave him! Say it!” He demanded. I realized that I shouldn’t have left to a different room with him. It was just me and him so no one was around to help me.

“No Zach! My answer is final! I love my mate and I will stay with him!” I cried.

“Then you leave me no choice.” He said quietly before snatching me and throwing me over his shoulder.

“PUT ME DOWN!” I screamed. I thrashed around trying to get free, but it was to no use. He had a secure hold on me and was walking to the back door so no one would see us. The windows started shattering and things started flying off of the shelves. After a few moments, I realized it was me causing it. I couldn’t think about that at the moment because Zach was kidnapping me!

Suddenly the back door burst open to reveal Jake and boy was he p***ed! Zach dropped me in surprise and when I turned around, I saw that Jakes's eyes were pitch black. Looking at Zach, I saw him cowering in fear as Jake walked in.
