I’m back to day 1. Day 1 on the job again. My reporting manager is Lilian. She is a werewolf in her mid forties. I’m surprised that this company has humans working here even though our jewelleries are marketed for werewolves and lycans. She said it’s fine as long as we all keep a hush hush. Most of the humans who are working here cover the jobs that werewolves don’t really want to do. The humans also mostly apply for certain positions in this department for short term working. They all come and go as the work scope doesn’t need long term commitment.

Lilian teaches me the daily operations here. It starts with the printing of customers’ invoices and then we will start picking the jewellery from the storage boxes. There are hundreds of storage boxes around the office floor in a row. Next step is to have someone check that we have picked up the correct items then after that it goes to the next stage, packing.

I can see the huge stack of customer’s invoices. I guess that they fulfil a lot of orders everyday. That's a lot of physical work, walking around non-stop, picking the items and even having to bend down. Then also packing the jewellery into individual pouches before placing them into a small jewellery box and then into the cardboard box for mailing. The workers also have to restock the pouches and boxes at the end of the day. Those stock boxes seems very heavy. I can see why this is treated more as a temporary job.

Lilian introduces me to everyone. I will start working in this department for a while to get to know more about our jewellery. There’s so many different types like bracelets, earrings, rings and even a handmade personalised section. She assigned me to a human as my teacher and went back to her desk to do her own work.

Elliot is a young human, only 26. Gosh, the people here are so young, only me having my age starting with 3 ughh, I rant to my missing wolf. I missed her answering me and reassuring me. Nowadays it’s just me myself and I talking in my mind. 

During lunch time, Elliot brought me out to lunch. We went to a place across the street and met up with his lunch buddies. He has a few friends working around the area, so they meet up for lunch here everyday.

They are all human with some even younger than him. Oh gosh, more young boys, I’m starting to feel out of place. However, Elliot and his friends don't see me that way. They keep asking me questions, getting me to interact, trying to be really friendly and included me in their conversation.

It seems also they were all quite engrossed in looking at their phone while eating and chatting. Humans.. Can’t they just stop looking at their phone all the time? They were all playing the same game, some sort of battle strategy. It does catch my interest with the cute graphics.

One of the lunch buddies, Jerry, nudged me to download the game and play with them. I politely decline as I’ve never played any battle games before. He said it’s fine and they will all guide me. I guess I’ll just download and see how then. The graphic seems nice and there’s even a cat in it. I freaking love cats, especially black cats as they kind of reminded me it resembles Raven. I smiled to myself inward as I picked out a black cat as an avatar.

As days go by, Jerry always sits beside me at the lunch table and guides me with the game. We are having so much fun. The way he talks to me, his eyes always twinkle when he smirks. I bet if it was a normal girl, she would fall for him immediately. But not me. I’m a werewolf, if he’s my mate, I would feel the bond like I had before. He likes to tease me a lot and I’m always pouting at him. The gang always laughs along.

Sometimes Elliot likes to tease me too and suggests that Jerry likes me. Oh please, I rolled my eyes. Jerry is only 23 and I’m what? Freaking 30.. No way I’ll fall for a boy so young and no way Jerry would love an older woman. What’s more, he’s human and he doesn’t know that I’m a werewolf… a very broken one too.
