Chapter 32

Bruce

I can see my mate thoroughly enjoying herself during the flight. She’s looking out the window and taking pictures of the sky and clouds. It’s just all sky and cloud, it’s the same when you see it from the ground isn’t it? I teased her.

Airplane food in the first class is just like a typical restaurant food to me. But here she is, taking pictures of it all. When she found out that they give freeflow snacks, she kept ordering it. The Japanese mixed rice crackers snack is her favourite. She ordered it 3 times already but I guess she still wants more since the packet comes in small sizes.

I can’t help but laugh at her when she whispered to me, “ Boss. Can you help me ask for more? I have already asked too many times”.

A prank sparked into my mind. I pushed the button for service and out came an elegant air stewardess to my side. “ May I help you sir? ” the air stewardess spoke politely.

“Yes. Please can I have a whole box of the Japanese rice crackers? Thank you. My companion wants it.” I said it with the same politeness. Loulou threw her pillow at me as I finished my sentence. I caught it and threw it back at her hitting her face. Oh my gosh, haha I wish I could see her face.

“Suurree. Please hold on sir, I will get it.” The air stewardess tried to keep her voice steady at our request. I looked at my mate and chuckled. She’s covering herself with the pillow and blanket already.

When the snacks came, I put it on her table. She gave me one packet and asked me to try saying it’s nice. Well, I did eat it a dozen times already before. She can have it back.

We finally landed after about 19 hours of flight. My mate had slept some on the flight while I didn’t catch any sleep. I went through some of the profiles again while she slept.

At the airport, I made a phone call. This was part of the plan. I purposely took awhile on the call and I looked at my mate, seeing her being nervous. After the call, I told her that the business trip was somewhat cancelled and we will have a change of plans. I assured her that her trip will not be wasted as we will extend the rest and relax time to the whole duration instead.

Ryan and Beckett came to pick us up. Beckett was so excited to see my mate that she rushed through the barrier outside the glass door and hugged my mate.

I cleared my throat at them. “Beckett, since my meetings are cancelled, I suppose I can now go back home with you.”

Beckett squeals in excitement, acting in surprise, “ Yayyyy. Lou~ you gotta come too. I hereby formally, invite you to the palace”.

Loulou POV:

I’m nervously holding onto my luggage as I wait for Bruce to finish his call. It’s taking him awhile, is something wrong? I’m in a foreign land and I don’t want to be separated from him. I’m afraid of getting lost. At least the sign boards here are all in English. This is an English land.

Bruce told me that his business stuff was cancelled. What?? What are we gonna do now? He assures me that now is just all play time instead of working. I secretly am happy as I get to spend more time with Bruce. It’s like one of those overseas trip experience posted online on a video platform. I always envy them.

As we walked out the glass door, I spotted Beckett running towards me. What was she doing here?

Bruce introduced the guy beside Beckett to me as Ryan, his best buddy. I saw this guy that day at our house. He came to pass Bruce some documents.

I’m now formally invited to the palace by Beckett. The palace… Bruce’s home…. Is this a meet the parent session? I giggled in my mind. OMG Lou ! Can you stop daydreaming?
