"Ok, I'll wait, but if I ask you the second time, will you agree?"
Him: "Ok, ask me after 5 years, then I'll say yes. Now drink the water."
They headed to the living room couch.
Oh! my god, five years?!
You are absolutely brutal!
She asks for a second chance to ask, hoping he'll say a few months or maybe a year.
But he drops a straight up five-year timeline on her like it's nothing, hands her the water, and just casually walks to the living room couch.
He doesn't compromise on his pace at all.
Five years in the entertainment industry is an eternity-contracts change, stars rise and fall, schedules are insane. By giving her that timeline, he's silently testing if what she feels for him is just a temporary escape from her current stress, or if she's truly in this for the ultra-long haul.
She takes the water, stunned but secretly admiring how unmovable he is, and follows him to the living room.
They are sitting down on the couch now.
The phone storm is still waiting outside, but right here, they are just a guy, a girl, and a glass of water.
