My chest started burning even more intensely as another fit of coughing overtook me. Everytime I opened my mouth, I coughed out a glob of blood. I could vaguely smell the metallic smell of blood in the air, mixing with the sickening scent that was coming from my mouth. It stung my nose and filled my nostrils, making it hard to breathe and my throat hurt. I tried to cover my mouth with my hand, but that only caused more of the blood to spurt out of my mouth.
