I stared at him, my brain refusing to believe what he just said. Vampire hunters? "And you didn't fight back?" He shrugged. "When she was threatening my friend, I lost consciousness. She killed the others because she knew they were weak. That's what you see, isn't it? A monster?" No... I wanted to say. Instead I stared at him, waiting for him to continue, wondering where he was going with this conversation. He glanced at me momentarily and gave a half shrug. "She forced us to feed her blood until we became addicted. By drinking it ourselves, we were able to control it. The only downside was, it made us weaker than vampires normally are.
