I squealed in surprise as they came to a halt a couple steps away from me. I stared up at them, my wide green eyes shining hopefully as my lips curved into a grin. I hadn't really had the time or energy to talk to them earlier today, as I was always rushing to get to school. But now that I saw them again, I felt completely elated. "Mother! Father!" My mother hugged me tight, pressing her face into my hair as she sobbed quietly. I hugged her back tightly as tears streamed down my cheeks, unable to keep myself from smiling broadly as I buried my face into her shoulder. After several moments passed, she reluctantly released me from her embrace, wiping the tears from her eyes, her eyes red with unshed tears.
