As we walked out of the kitchen and headed downstairs, I began to wonder about what he had said to his friends. How long had they known that something was wrong with me? Hadn't I mentioned it enough times that evening when he first entered the house? Had they suspected that I was hiding something from them, and if that was the case, why didn't they ask me? Surely, they could see that I was different. I mean, I didn't have any magic powers, and I had no ability to transform myself or create illusions. And that was the biggest reason why they didn't want me around. They knew, deep down, that if they got close to me, I would turn out to be a traitor, just like our enemies did.
