At first, when I emerge from the portal, I can’t breathe. Then I realize that I can breathe. The air isn’t toxic. No, it is fresh and clean. It feels like forever since I have breathed fresh air. The atmosphere in our realm is toxic. To go to the surface requires a tank of oxygen and a gas mask to breathe. You can only stay on the surface for a short amount of time. Prolong exposure will cause breathing problems and other health problems. Not that anyone goes to the surface or what's to remain. It is a barren wasteland.
