Dahlia (Ten years old) POV: "Mama, can Misty and I go to the lake today?" I asked mama "As long as you can find an adult to go with you. Unfortunately, your father and I have some business to attend to and are unable to go with you and Misty." Mama told me "Okay. I guess we can't go then. Misty parents can't take us either." I tell mama, hoping the sadness in my voice would make her change her mind. "I am sorry, sweetie. You and Misty will have to go another day." Mama says I don't want to go another day. I want to go today. It's the perfect day too. The sun is out. It isn't too hot, but hot enough to go swimming. "Okay, mama." All I can think to say. This is not how I imagined my day going. Misty was going to be so disappointed. Let's see what else we can do today. I got nothing. T
