Chapter 1

948 Words

Chapter 1If you’re willing to believe that I, Loki of Asgard, could tell the truth, then let me be completely honest with you. I have a dreadful feeling of what I will find when the elevator stops and I step out. I’m not sure why I have this chilly tingle scampering up and down my spine, but it’s there. Fenrir buries his head under my arm. Can he sense my apprehension? Or does he just want attention? Maybe he needs to sleep now? We have been around the world in a day. The bell chimes, announcing that we’ve reached our floor. Something about the tone’s resonance seems so final. The waning sound parks like Thor’s hammer in my stomach as the elevator wheezes a mournful sigh and slinks open. Emotional doors, just what I need. Yet, maybe Douglas Adams was right about never forgetting a towel.
